With the continuous development of the market economy,the contradiction between China's ecological civilization construction and economic construction has become increasingly prominent.Therefore,the construction of environmental protection has begu n to rise to the level of national strategic tasks.In this context,enterprises as the main source of environmental pollution must also bear corresponding responsibilities in environmental protection.More and more companies are also aware of the importance of environmental governance for their sustainable development,and some companies have begun to form green committees to supervise their green governance behavior.China Aluminum Corporation(China Aluminum)is one of them.As a key state-owned enterprise and a heavily polluting enterprise,China Aluminum started to form a green committee earlier.Despite this,its environmental pollution incidents continue.Therefore,it is doubtful whether its Green Committee will play a substantive role.To this end,this paper selects China Aluminum as the research object and analyzes the effectiveness of its green committee.At present,China's research on the Green Committee and its effectiveness is still in a blank stage.Therefore,the discussion and analysis of related content in this paper can enrich the research in this field.At the same time,this paper also gives constructive comments on the problems existing in China Aluminum's environmental information disclosure.Therefore,the research in this paper is of great significance for China Aluminum to improve environmental performance and environmental information disclosure.On the other hand,as a leading company in the industry,China Aluminum has conducted research on it as an example and has certain reference significance for green governance in the same industry.In order to explore the effectiveness of the establishment of the China Aluminum Green Committee,this paper is based on the enterprise as a whole,first of all expounds the research background and significance of this paper.Then it sorts out the related literatures at home and abroad,and finds that the green committees of listed companies in China tend to appear more important than the substantive ones.Secondly,it introduces in detail the establishment and current status of the green committee of China Aluminum.Under the guidance of signal theory,stakeholder theory and information asymmetry theory,the paper uses the literature research method and the case study method to quantitatively analyze the establishment of the China Aluminum Green Committee.After the market reaction situation.Thirdly,according to the relevant data disclosed in China Aluminum's annual report and corporate social responsibility report,it analyzes the changes in environmental performance and environmental information disclosure.Suggested suggestions for the problems existing in China Aluminum's environmental information disclosure.Finally,through the research and analysis of the case enterprises,the corresponding conclusions are drawn.Through the case study of green committee and environmental performance and environmental information disclosure,the paper draws the following conclusions: first,the capital market does not respond strongly to the behavior of enterprises setting up green committees.Investors pay more attention to the actual governance actions of enterprises.second,the establishment of the Green Committee is an effective means of environmental governance that can better improve the environmental performance of enterprises.third,environmental information disclosure should be more complete and complete.fourth,the establishment of a green committee by a company may also be a “Drifting green” behavior.The innovation of this paper is to study the environmental committee's environmental governance effect and environmental information disclosure by setting up the Green Committee of China Aluminum Industry,and supplement the related literature on the impact of the establishment of the Green Committee.It is helpful to improve the environmental governance effect and raise investors' awareness of environmental protection.
