Glass fiber is an important material in aviation,aerospace,navigation,architecture and other industries with advantages of high temperature resistance,corrosion resistance and high tensile strength.However,domestic glass industry has been in a backward state on the development of high performance glass fiber.In this paper,the mechanical,conductive and thermal properties of the fiber are improved by compounding graphene in glass fibers,to extend its application in aerospace field such as antenna filtering and electromagnetic shielding of aircraft,then the development of high performance glass fiber industry is promoted.graphene/glass fiber was prepared by mixing dispersed graphene oxide and glass powder,high temperature reduction sintering and melt drawing process.Through the analysis of the morphology of the sample during the preparation process,the sintering reduction process of graphene oxide/glass powder and the distribution of graphene in glass fiber was revealed.By comparing and analyzing the microstructure and performance of graphene/glass fiber at different sintering temperatures,the results show that the increase of sintering temperature can effectively increase the compactness of graphene/glass block after sintering,thus reducing the porosity of fibers in melt drawing process.Consequently,the tensile strength,electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity of the fiber consequently are improved.The performance of graphene/glass fiber with five different graphene contents was tested.The results show that the more the amount of graphene added,the worse the mixing uniformity,and the tensile strength of the fiber does not increase with the increase of graphene.And the electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity of the fiber continue to increase as the graphene content increases.In addition,based on the artificial neural network tool in MATLAB software,the relationship between sintering temperature,graphene content and fiber properties is summarized,to optimize the experimental process parameters.The results show that when the sintering temperature is 890 °C~1000 °C,the graphene content is 0.4 wt.% ~ 0.6 wt.%,the fiber has both high strength and excellent electrical conductivity,that provides a theoretical data basis for the preparation of graphene/glass fiber.
