Stainless steel slab is a half finished product,its quality is not only directly affect the quality of the final product and manufacturing costs,but also affect the customer’s service life,maintenance cost,company’s brand image and social responsibility.In this paper,I study and solve the quality problem of stainless steel slab by using Six Sigma and statistical quality control.It has certain economic and social benefits.At first,through the analysis of the production data from the production field,the defects of the stainless steel slab are divided into internal quality defects and surface quality defects.I used the project definition method of Six Sigma to decompose the quality control target,and then study the two different kinds of defects respectively.For the surface defects,I use variance analysis,chi square test,correlation analysis,dual ratio hypothesis testing and other tools and methods to find out that the main factors affecting the surface quality of stainless steel slab.For the internal defects,I used the gray correlation analysis method to analyze the 21 factors that affecting the internal quality of stainless steel slab,and classified the influencing factors as main factors,secondary factors and weak influence factors.On this basis,the 7 main factors were further analyzed by using the principal component analysis method.At the same time,I researched the corresponding relationship between the internal quality control and the 7key factors is by using T~2 statistics method,which proves that the quality control chart can be used to monitor the internal quality control.Finally,I designed a quality control plan combination the factors with the characteristics of production practice,the effect is obvious after the implementation and the rejection rate of stainless steel slab is reduced to0.51%.
