The hypercrosslinked polystyrene resins are a series of polymeric adsorbent materials which are widely used in adsorption and separation due to their high specific surface area,high mechanical strength and being easily modified.In this dissertation,a class of novel hypercrosslinked polystyrene resins were synthesized by introduction of the planar conjugating groups of naphthyl and halogen-bonding donor atoms of bromine,thereafter,structure of the resins was characterized,and their adsorption property was investigated.1.Naphthyl and 1-bromonaphthyl groups were introduced to the chloromethylated crosslinked polystyrene resin by the Friedel-Crafts reaction between the chloromethyl groups of the resin and naphthalene,or 1-bromonaphthalene respectively.Thereafter,the resins with naphthyl or 1-bromonaphthyl groups were post-crosslinked by reaction with dimethoxymethane,and thus naphthalene modified hypercosslinked polystyrene(shorted as“HPS-NAP”)resin and 1-bromonaphthalene modified hypercosslinked polystyrene(shorted as“HPS-BN”)resin were prepared.Brominated naphthalene modified hypercosslinked polystyrene(shorted as“HPS-NBP”)resin was synthesized by substitution reaction of the HPS-NAP resin with Br2-H2O.The HPS-NBP resin was treated with sodium hydroxide-ethanol soluion to eliminate the substituted bromine atoms bonded in saturated carbon,and then the sp3-C bonded bromine eliminated HPS-NBP resin was obtained,which was shorted as“HPS-NCP”resin.Chemical structure and pore structure of the four resins synthesized were characterized by bromine content analysis,and surface area and porosity testing.2.Adsorption isotherms of the HPS-NAP resin,the HPS-BN resin,the HPS-NBP resin,and the HPS-NCP resin for theophylline,phenol,2-naphthalenesulfonic acid,and aniline in aqueous solution were tested,and interactions between the resins and adsorbates were analyzed.In the static adsorption study,it was found that the adsorption were spontaneous exothermic processes,and the HPS-NAP resin and the HPS-BN resin have stronger adsorption ability than the HPS-NBP resin and the HPS-NCP resin.3.The adsorption isotherms of the HPS-NAP resin,the HPS-BN resin,the HPS-NBP resin,and the HPS-NCP resin for glutathione(GSH)in aqueous solution were tested,and interactions between the resins and GSH were analyzed.In the static adsorption study,the adsorption capacity of the HPS-NBP resin and the HPS-NCP resin for GSH was significantly larger than that of the HPS-NAP resin,and the adsorption capacity of HPS-NBP resin amounted to 81.60 mg/g,which was much larger than the adsorption capacity reported in the references.It is speculated that the halogen bonding between GSH and C-Br in the HPS-NBP resin and the HPS-NCP resin enhanced their adsorption capacity.
