Environmentally friendly waterborne polyurethane(WPUs)nano emulsions have potential development in the field of new materials.Herein,the design and synthesis of superhydrophobic,antibacterial and nano-type waterborne polyurethane was studied.And the property of WPUs was affected by NCO/OH ratio(r),molar ratio of polyol and polyol,etc.When the ratio of NCO/OH was 1.2,the particle size and polydispersity index of WPUs were found as < 50 nm and 0.1,respectively.Moreover,the novel dimethylol propionamide containing guanidine group(DMG)was designed and synthesized as the chain extender of waterborne fluorinated polyurethane.And we designed and prepared the waterborne fluorinated polyurethane coating with antibacterial upper-layer and antifouling sub-layer.The waterborne fluorinated polyurethanes coatings showed high bactericidal efficacy against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.The guanidine group would facilitate the film formation of the WFPUs dispersions particles,and the film had appropriate surface roughness.When the amount of guanidine salt chain extender reached 11%,WFPUs film performed excellent superhydrophobicity and mechanical durability.And the hydrophobicity of cotton was effectively enhanced.The successful synthesis of these fascinating hydrophobic and antibacterial waterborne resins may provide new insights into the development of protection materials in a sustainable form,which could be applied in the medical implants,food storage and food packaging,biosensors,self-cleaning materials,solar cells,oil-water separation systems and antifreeze materials,etc.
