The application of polymer composites is a trend with the development of science.The performance of single polymer materials can no longer meet the growing demand for social development.In particular,the damping properties of materials,along with the widening of the range of materials used,continue to put forward new requirements for the mechanical properties of damping materials,so the preparation of damping materials with high strength and wide temperature range is very important.In this study,chlorinated polyethylene(CPE)/chlorosulfonated polyethylene(CSM)/polyvinyl chloride(PVC)ternary composite was prepared by blending method.In order to achieve a good blending effect of the ternary system,the blending processes and damping propertie of CPE/CSM,CPE/PVC and CSM/PVC(brief)systems were discussed in detail,respectively.Finally,the blending process and damping property of CPE/CSM/PVC ternary system were systematically analyzed.The mechanical properties,compatibility and damping properties of the materials were investigated by using different experimental analysis instruments,such as universal tension machine,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)and dynamic mechanical property analyzer(DMA).The experimental results show:The dispersion of pentaerythritol and CSM could be improved and the tensile strength of the composites could be increased by 23.7% when pentaerythritol was mixed with CSM in the process of preparing CPE/CSM composites.When CPE and CSM were mixed at near the same viscosity point,the tensile strength of CPE/CSM could be increased by 26.9%.When the blending ratio of CPE and CSM was 20/80,the mechnical property of the composites could been achieved well.The interfacial cross-linking of CPE/CSM was formed by adding 2 phr of BIBP,and the mechanical properties were improved.The height of damping peak was increased from 1.20 to1.25.When CPE/PVC composites were prepared by two-stage method,the particle size of PVC decreased and the tensile strength and elongation at break increased at the same time.Reducing the melt viscosity of PVC during blending,and adding chlorinated polyethylene chlorinated in situ grafted methyl methacrylate(CPE-cg-MMA)can improve the compatibility of CPE with PVC and make the damping value at 40? is raised from 0.16 to 0.21.Co-vulcanization made a great contribution to the mechanical properties of the system.The compatibility and tensile strength of the system were improved simultaneously.The damping peak of CPE increased from 0.59 to 0.69.The mechanical properties of ternary blends were improved with the increase of the CSM content and CPE vulcanization.The damping temperature range of tan?>0.3was widened from 32.7? to 51.1? by adding 3 phr of BIBP.The damping temperature range of tan?>0.3 was widened from 37.7? to 46.8? by adding 30 phr of PVC,and the damping temperature range of tan?>0.3 was widened from 37.7? to45.3? by using 700 polymerization degree of PVC compared with 1000 polymerization degree of PVC.When the blending ratio of CPE/CSM/CPE-cg-MMA/PVC was 20/10/50/30,the chlorine content of CPE-g-MMA was 40%.Under the condition of adding only 2 phr of BIBP to CPE and CPE-cg-MMA,the damping peak of the prepared ternary blending damping material was raised from the lowest value to about 0.22.The damping temperature range from-19.4? to 120? was remained above 0.22.
