Phenol,an organic pollutant,has a stable benzene ring structure and is difficult to degrade.The Fenton-like reaction,can degrade organic pollutants.There are many problems in the existing Fenton-like catalysts,such as easy agglomeration,poor cycle stability and so on.In this paper,Fenton-like catalysts were prepared by electrochemical deposition with carbon cloth with strong adsorption,good conductivity and easy recovery.The phase and morphology of the catalyst were analyzed by SEM,XRD and XPS.The catalytic activity of the prepared catalyst to degrade phenol was studied,and the preparation process and degradation conditions were optimized.Iron oxide Fenton catalysts were prepared by electrochemical deposition with iron sulfate,ferrous sulfate and iron nitrate as iron sources respectively.The iron oxide catalyst prepared by using ferric nitrate has a large Fe2+ratio and a large amount of catalytic active component deposition.It takes about 80 min for the degradation of 80%phenol by the iron oxide Fenton-like catalyst.The period of phenol degradation by the iron oxide catalyst is too long.In order to shorten the time of phenol degradation,thiourea was added to the electrolyte,and the sulfur-modified iron oxide Fenton-like catalyst was prepared by electrochemical deposition.The addition of thiourea increases the specific surface area of the catalyst and shortens the phenol degradation cycle.Sulfur-modified iron oxide catalyst degrades 80%phenol for 4min.Due to the large amount of total iron dissolution,the cyclic stability of the sulfur-modified iron oxide catalyst to degrade the phenol is poor.In order to improve the cycle stability of phenol degradation,the carbon modification treatment of the catalyst was realized by ethanol solvothermal method.The cyclic stability of the catalyst is improved by the protective effect of carbon modification on the active components in the catalyst.The carbon-modified catalyst is used for 17times,and the degradation rate of the phenol is still up to 80%.Then the catalyst after continuous degradation of phenol was re-modified with carbon.According to the kinetic parameters of phenol degradation,the performance of carbon-modified catalyst for degradation of phenol recovered to more than 80%.Amorphous carbon layer on the surface of the catalyst exhibit reduction characteristics,promoting the conversion of Fe3+to Fe2+,which makes the carbon-modified catalyst renewable.
