Shape memory polymer composites are a type of smart material that can respond to external excitations and deform.The space inflatable support structure combines the advantages of large storage ratio of the space inflatable structure and high stiffness after the unfolding of the shape memory polymer composite structure,and will have broad application prospects in the industrial,military and aerospace fields.This paper focuses on the application of SMPCs in the aerospace field and study the space inflatable support structure based on shape memory polymer composites.Based on the analysis of mechanical properties of shape memory polymer composites,the space inflatable support structure is designed and fabricated,and the vibration during the lift-off process and the maximum stress of the components are analyzed.Then,the temperature field of the structure and changes of temperature during heating are analyzed by simulation and experiment.The research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The mechanical properties of selected material are analyzed by tensile test,the glass transition temperature of the material and its fixing performance at different temperatures are analyzed by DMA test and fixed rate experiment.(2)The space inflatable support structure is designed,vibration of the space inflatable support structure is simulated,the modal and fundamental frequency of the structure in the unfolded state and the folded state are analyzed,and the vibration performance and maximum stress of the structure in the unexpanded state are studied.(3)Fluid simulation of a space inflatable support structure is conducted.The main influencing factors of the temperature in the deformation zone are obtained through steady-state simulation,and better input parameters are obtained through optimization.Besides,the rise of temperature and temperature of the structure under different input parameters are obtained by transient simulation.(4)The space inflatable support structure is fabricated and a heating expansion test on the space inflation support structure is conducted to obtain the deployment time,the deployment angle and the temperature of the deformation zone during the unfolding process.A rapid cooling and rigidification test after heating the space inflatable support structure is then performed.
