The icing problem is a major issue concerning the safety of the aircraft, and the anti-icing material is a potential anti-ice method. The research on ice adhesion is of great significance to the development of anti-icing materials.Meanwhile, the ice shedding prediction of the unprotected surface on the aircraft needs accurate analysis on the melting and deicing characteristics of the aircraft, which demands researches on the change rules of ice adhesion with temperature. At present, the researches on ice adhesion focus on the mechanism of ice adhesion and the influence factors of ice adhesion.Existing researches on the substrate factors have not revealed the ice adhesion mechanism and change rules, and the influence of environmental factors on ice adhesion has become the key problem to the research on ice adhesion. In this article, the changes of ice adhesion under different environmental conditions were studied, the icing process and results were observed and the mechanism was explored. The research process is that ice adhesion measurement experiments were done under freezer ice and impact ice conditions(with different mean volumetric diameter and liquid water content)to study the ice adhesion with the regularity of temperature change, and icing process and result were observed.Based on the theory of ice adhesion, the change rules and mechanisms of environmental factors affecting ice adhesion were discussed. In this article,by studying the difference between impact ice and freezer ice,the results showed the existence of the critical temperature. It was found that with the temperature decreasing from 0?,before the critical temperature the ice adhesion strength is not influenced by whether it is freezer ice or impact ice.But after the critical temperature, the ice adhesion strength of impact ice is lower, with the ice regime transforming from glaze ice to rime ice.The critical temperature decreases as the mean volumetric diameter increases.
