Stainless steel is widely used in industry,agriculture and daily life for its good corrosion resistance,low temperature resistance and good mechanical properties.It is an important foundation industry of the national economy.However,oxide scale with complex structure is formed on the surface of stainless steel during its production,which affects quality and subsequent process.This seriously restricts the development of stainless steel industry.Currently pickling is generally adopted to remove the scales.But masses of waste acid,water and gas of nitrogen oxide are produced at the same time.In order to improve the speed of descaling and reduce the load in pickling,a brush roller device was developed based on the existing continuous annealing-blasting-pickling process.The descaling effect was study in depth by weight-loss method and potential-time curve combined with scanning electron microscope,surface roughness detector,X-ray diffraction.The physical method of brush roller descaling can reduce the amount of sludge and acid for pickling line.The brush roller descaling technology of stainless steel is adaptable to the existing blasting-pickling line.The result shows that it could effectively remove nearly 50%of the residual oxide scale and significantly improve the surface roughness of 430stainless steel.The stainless steel obtained a high speed in descaling and minimum roughness with composite processing of 80#SiC rolling wheel and 100#Cr2O3 rolling wheel.With brush roller descaling technology,430 stainless steel after sand blasting with the speed of 40mm/s could significantly reduce the pickling time and improve the pickling efficiency.After the composite processing of 80#SiC rolling wheel and 100#Cr2O3 rolling wheel,the pickling time reduced to 64s from 121s of unstained specimen at 20?while at 50?stainless steel could also reduce pickling time from 60s to 2030s with a smooth pickling micro morphology;With brush roller descaling technology,430 stainless steel after sand blasting with the speed of 10mm/s could also reduce the pickling time and improve the pickling efficiency.After composite processing of 80#SiC rolling wheel and 100#Cr2O3 rolling wheel,the pickling time reduced to79s from 120s at 20?while at 50?stainless steel could also reduce pickling time from 70s to 3040s with a better surface roughness;The technology could remove oxide scale without water,reduce the amount of acid and lower metal ions in waste water from the beginning.It made decreasing of waste acid and waste water possible and provided relevant data for the industrial production of brush roller device.
