Shot peen technology uses the pellets to impact the material surface,makes the material surface with plastic deformation,grain refinement and brings residual compressive stress.This kind treatment can optimize the material's microstructure,mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.Aluminum alloy has the advantage of low density,high strength and forming easily,also it maintains good properties of anti-fatigue and corrosion resistance,so it is more and more widely used in the industrial field.The material's wear,corrosion and fracture usually happens on the surface,thus it is very important to optimize the aluminum alloy's surface property,as it can remarkably improve the material's overall performance.This project uses 6061 aluminum alloy as the research object,after shot peen treatment,through a series mechanical properties tests,electrochemical corrosion tests and microstructure investigations,we have deeply researched how the shot peen parameters influence the material's properties.The results validate the above theories,and showed the shot peen could make the surface with grain refinement and residual stress,and also improved the surface roughness,they together influenced the 6061 aluminum alloy surface's corrosion process and corrosion morphology.Further,we have compared and analyzed the shot peen two parameters concerning the pressure and the flow rate,and understand how they comprehensively influence the shot peen result,this provides engineering staff with the experimental basis for make good selection of the shot peen parameters in practical.
