Abstract/Summary:
With the development of China, the growing area of corn has been rapidly spread as the mainly food under the guidance of local government in China.Corn processing enterprises also increase rapidly and the starch industry has become the important channel for farmers to increase income. However the problem of waster water and sewage has been becoming serious. It is urgent to improve the treatment of starch wastewater in order to reduce the environment pollution of starch wastewater.Corn starch wastewater contains a lot of soluble organic pollutants and suspended solids with different sizes. It is non-toxic and is easy to biodegrade. The physical-chemical method and bio-method were commonly used to treat the starch wastewater. But the methods had some disadvantages.Alternatively adsorption technique is an effective technique to organic pollutants from starch wastewater. It is easy to operate and economic in investment. At the same time, due to the presence of large amounts of clay minerals in China, this paper used the clay mineral(bentonite, attapulgite, montmorillonite)with the method of adsorption process for corn starch wastewater treatment, and discussed the reuse of corn starch wastewater resources.Through the modification with high temperature and organic method to compare the effect of corn starch wastewater treatment, the conclusion is mineral without modification is better than mineral with modification. The best treatment mineral is montmorillonite, which the condition was pH 8,reaction temperature 40 ℃,reaction time for 30 min and adsorbent dosage for 6 g for COD removal efficiency, about 35%.These procedures provide a theoretical basis for this type of starch wastewater with high concentration of organic pollution.
