In the process of human history development, the relationship between man and nature is an inescapable topic. The concept of human nature affects people’s concept of labor, and the concept of labor directly affects the relationship between man and nature, and thus is closely related to ecological issues. What Marx advocates is ecological labor, and criticism is the alienation of labor that destroys ecology. Therefore, studying the ecological connotation of Marx’s concept of labor is of great significance to the construction of ecological civilization today. The severity of the ecological crisis has attracted the attention of ecologists and prompted them to find the root causes of the ecological crisis. The "anthropocentrism" view of nature is regarded as the ideological root of the ecological crisis and has been criticized. At the same time,Marx’s view of nature has been criticized by ecologists because it is regarded as "anthropocentrism".Criticism mainly focuses on two points: 1.Marx ignores the value of nature;2.Marx advocates the domination of man for nature. The core question of criticism is how Marx views the relationship between man and nature.Marx has always relied on labor to understand the relationship between man and nature. Therefore,Marx’s concept of labor has become the key to responding to ecologists. To this end,we must examine Marx’s concept of labor and interpret the ecological connotations contained therein. It mainly includes three aspects: 1.Labor realizes the organic unity of man and nature;2.Labor is the harmonious unity of human scale and natural scale;3.Labor is the process of material transformation between man and nature.Based on this, respond to the criticism of ecologists: 1.Marx emphasizes the priority of nature VS Marx ignores the value of nature;2.Marx emphasizes the relationship between man and nature.Marx advocates man’s domination of nature.Marx’s concept of labor embodies the harmonious unity between man and nature, and proves that Marx’s view of nature is not simply "anthropocentrism" but a combination of "anthropocentrism" and "natural centralism".Transcendence.However,this is the labor of Marx’s ideal state. The fact is that in the capitalist society in which Marx lived, the alienation of labor triggered the alienation of the relationship between man and nature.Through the ecological critique of capitalist alienated labor,Marx reveals the root of the ecological crisis and points out the way to resolve the ecological crisis. What Marx advocates is an ecologically-oriented work that can provide useful guidance and enlightenment for the construction of ecological civilization in China.Marx’s analysis of the true root causes of ecological crisis and the disclosure of the anti-ecological nature of capitalist production methods are contemporary ecological civilizations. The construction pointed out the direction of socialism and highlighted the superiority of the socialist system.
