With the adjustment,transformation and upgrading of Chinese economic structure,the demand for high-end CNC machine tools is increasing in processing and manufacturing.Heavy gantry machining center has become an important processing equipment for many enterprises because of its wide processing range and high efficiency.In order to meet the market demand,the XH2130B Gantry Machining Center with high spindle output torque was developed on the basis of the original XH1130 Gantry Machining Center.This project is based on the project of Jiangsu "Technology and Equipment of Large high precision Moving Beam Gantry Machining Center".The static and dynamic characteristics of slide&ram of gantry machining center are analyzed.(1)Firstly,it analyzes the static characteristics of the slide&ram of XH2130 Gantry Machining Center when the ram stops at specific point in its stroke,and loading the maximum milling force on its X direction and Z direction.Ram's static deformation and stress are obtained and the maximum static deformation of it is more than 100 micron.Then the ram's modal analysis and harmonic response analysis are also completed.The Ram's natural frequency and the maximum amplitude of ram in X.Y and Z directions are obtained.The static characteristics of slide&ram of XH2130 Gantry Machining Center is poor,which can not work under high spindle output torque working condition.(2)By making a comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the common guide rails of machine tools,it is decided that the slide&ram of XHZ130B Gantry Machining Center adopts the sliding plastic guideway structure for large torque,and increase the cross-section of the ram*then designed the slide&ram components.The 3D modeling of slide&ram was completed by Solid Works.The XH2130B Gantry Machining Center was designed.The bed,column and crossbeam were borrowed from XH2130 Gantry Machining Center.(3)The static and dynamic characteristics of the slide&ram of XH2130B were analyzed.The maximum static deformation of the ram is about 50 micron.The first natural frequency is 156.28 Hz,and the maximum amplitudes of the ram in X,Y and Z directions are 0.057 mm,0.001 mm and 0.025 mm,respectively.Compared with XH2130,the maximum static deformation of the ram of XH2130B decreases by more than 45%,the first natural frequency increases by 11.1%,and the maximum amplitude decreases by more than 70%in X,Y and Z directions.The results show that the static and dynamic characteristics of the slide&ram of XH2130B Gantry Machining Center is better,which can work under high spindle output torque working condition.(4)The static test of the ram of the XH2130 and XH2l30B Gantry Machining Centers.During the simulated machining process,the ram loaded the static milling force transmitted from the spindle in the X and Z directions,and the maximum deformation of the lower end of the ram is measured.The static deformation of the ram of XH2130B Gantry Machining Center is reduced by 37.9%and 49.8%respectively than that of XH2130.The deformation of the ram obtained by finite element analysis is basically consistent with the experimental results,and the maximum deviation is less than 5%,which proves that the theoretical calculation method is accurate.(5)In order to research the cutting performance,the cutting experiments of XH2130 and XH2130B Gantry Machining Centers were carried out.In the process of cutting experiments,the same cutting parameters were used for cutting the same test piece.The shape tolerance and roughness were measured,and the test data were analyzed.C.ompared with the XH2130 Gantry Machining Center,the machining accuracy of XH2130B Gantry Machining Center is improved by about 20%and the roughness value is reduced by more than 10%.In this paper,the static and dynamic characteristics of slide&ram of XH2130 and XH2130B Gantry Machining Centers were analyzed.The slide&ram and XH2130B Gantry Machining Center have been designed and completed.The slide&ram adopts the sliding plastic guideway and the bigger cross section of square ram.It has good static and dynamic characteristics for gantry machining center with large torque.The modular design method was used to complete the research and development of XH2130B Gantry Machining Center.It has important guiding significance for the design and research of the same type of gantry machining centers and components.
