With the rapid development of the economy since the 21 st century,the people's living standards have continuously improved.The contradiction between environmental pollution and shortage of resources has become increasingly prominent,threatened to people's physical and mental health.In recent years,pollution incidents such as the leakage of cupric acid in Zijin Mining,Harbin Pharmaceutical General Factory's "pollution gate"incident,Lukang Pharmaceutical's discharge of pollutants,and Tianjin Port's explosion accident were appalling.The heavy economic cost and valuable life were given,which has to warn the society that companies should also fulfill their social responsibilities and protect the environment while creating their own value.Environmental information disclosure has attracted the attention of all parties.In order to guide and standardize the environmental behavior of enterprises,the government has issued a new "Environmental Protection Law." The media have also reported on environmental pollution incidents of companies,in order to promote the improvement of environmental information disclosure,coordination and interest-related issues.The relationship between the people and realize the long-term development of the company.This paper combines theoretical analysis and empirical testing,and takes the environmental information published by 174 listed companies in 15 heavy polluting industries from 2014 to 2016 as the research object.Based on the environmental information indicator system constructed in this paper,we find that China's listed companies are heavily polluting.The number of environmental information disclosures has increased more,the quality is lower,and the current situation of independent reporting tends to be compiled.A multiple linear regression model has been constructed to explore the impact of government supervision and media reports on the disclosure of environmental information.Divide media reports into non-negative and negative reports and explore the impact of media reports on environmental disclosure.Government supervision is subdivided into regional government supervision and government supervision in the central and western regions according to geographical characteristics,and the impact of government supervision in different regions on the disclosure of environmental information is explored.Combined with the influence of media reports and government supervision,the impact of the two on the disclosure of environmental information will be discussed.The conclusions of this paper are as follows: 1 Non-negative media coverageCorporate environmental information disclosure is positively related.2 This relationship is significant in eastern China is positively related to disclosure of environmental information nationwide.but not significant in the central and western regions.3 Media reports have weakened the role of government supervision in the disclosure of corporate environmental information,and government supervision has also weakened the role of media reports in promoting corporate environmental information disclosure.The contributions of this paper are : combining the geographical differences in China,the impact of government supervision in different regions on the disclosure of environmental information is analyzed.In order to reduce the environmental regulatory gap in different regions,government agencies have provided new ideas for the design of differentiated policies.
