Traditional ecological knowledge is the summary of the wisdom, knowledge, experience, technology and beliefs of the ancestors in dealing with the relationship between man and nature accumulated in the long-term practice of adapting to the natural environment.t is the crystallization of the cultural adaptation of the nation. With the development of industrial civilization, traditional knowledge has gradually been marginalized, and only a few traditional ecological knowledge remains in the rural. At the same time, the problems of environmental pollution, resource depletion and ecological degradation brought about by industrial civilization are becoming more and more serious, and it is urgent to obtain solutions from traditional ecological knowledge. From the perspective of cultural ecology, this paper comprehensively uses the field survey method, the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis methods and the combination of analysis and synthesis to explore the traditional ecological knowledge in rural life and farming production. In particular,it focuses on rural water resources management and farmland ecological environmental protection. The traditional rainwater utilization, traditional farming production and the ecological knowledge contained in them,as well as the rheological process of ecological knowledge in recent decades were studied. It also explores the rationality of traditional ecological knowledge from the perspective of modern science and its reference value for the sustainable development of rural areas. The following conclusions are drawn:(1)Traditional ecological knowledge exists in all aspects of life and production in the form of experience, belief and norm.Traditional ecological knowledge has played an important role in history. It not only helped the ancestors to solve the water shortage predicament of their lives, but also guaranteed the abundance of agricultural production, and maintained the dynamic balance of the local ecological environment.(2)In the past seventy years, traditional ecological knowledge has changed with the modernization and industrialization of rural life and production. The loss of traditional rainwater utilization and traditional farming is not only the loss of traditional ecological knowledge. To a certain extent,it also reflects the decline of traditional ecological ethics, the weakness of traditional moral concepts and the decline of traditional culture.(3)The traditional ecological knowledge about water cycle law and farming production management experience coincides with the results of modern scientific research, and is forward-looking and advanced. It has certain reference value for the sustainable development of life and production today. In addition, the development of modernization is not equivalent to abandoning traditional knowledge.Traditional ecological knowledge has a strong stability in the process of inheritance. If it is applied to modern society,it will not only help solve the problems of ecological crisis and environmental pollution, but also cushion the impact of social changes.
