As the most important material in daily life,elastomers play a vital role.And during the long-time using,the stability of materials seems of great significance.Among elastomers,double network(DN)materials are regarded as outstanding as biological materials,which show resilience and good toughness.However,during the daily using,chemical bond in DN could be broken in atomic scale,and the mechanical property of the DN could be diminished.My work is based on the research in mechanochemistry and self-healing materials of our group,aiming at figuring out how to fix the weakness in double network,investigating the method to strengthen it.The plan is to insert the cross-linker anthracene dimer mechanophore(ADC),which contain the dynamic covalent bond(DCB),into the first network of DN,where ADC act as the early warning and the healing functional group.And once the covalent bond is broken,we can use UV light to bond it again,which reinforce the weaken DN.According to my experiment,we successfully activate the mechnophore in the 1st network,bring DN the early warning feature.And our design aiming at toughening DN is verified.This work provides a new strategy to reinforce the DN.What's more,the mechanochemistry carriers are enriched.
