| Chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG)is a chronic digestive system disease,which is considered as the precancerous state of gastric cancer and has become a hot research topic in clinical practice.The koumiss is one of the effective methods for treating CAG in Mongolian medical profession It has the effects of controlling the development of the disease and reducing recurrence,but there is few reports on the mechanism of koumiss in treating CAGIn this study,koumiss was used to treat 10 patients with CAG We detected the clinical symptom scores,blood physiological and biochemical indexes of the patients on day 0(before drinking)and day 60(during drinking).Meanwhile,PacBio SMRT sequencing technology was used to analyze the bacterial diversity of koumiss at three time points(day 05 day 30 and day 60)and the gut microbiota of the patients at four time points(day 0,day 30,day 60 and day 30 when drinking was stopped).This study revealed the influence of drinking koumiss on gut microbiota in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis.The results are as follows:1.The dominant genus and species in the koumiss are Lactobacillus and Lactobacillus helveticus respectively.2.The patients’ symptoms rating,platelet count and total cholesterol was significantly decreased after drinking koumiss(p<0.05).3.Drinking koumiss changed the gut microbioal structure of patients with CAG.The relative abundance of some beneficial bacteria,Bcteroides uniformis with cholesterol degrading and produced-butyric acid such as Roseburia,Eubacterium rectale,Faecalibacterium prausnitzii increased during drinking koumiss.While the relative abudance of disease-related bacteria such as Parabacteroides and Shigella decreased in the gut microbiota.While some bacteria will return to their original levels after stopping drinking.4.The correlation analysis results between gut microbiota and blood indexes showed that 12 bacteria genera and 13 bacteria species were significantly correlated with blood physiological and biochemical indexes.Bacteroides,Ruminococcus,Bacteroides dorei were positively correlated with blood indexes such as WBC,UA,RBC and HGB(p<0.05).Roseburia,Veillonella,Prevotella copri were negative correlaed with blood indexes such as RBC,HGB and PLT(p<0.05).It shows that the changes of blood indexes of CAG patients are related to the changes of gut microbiota.In summary,these results showed that drinking koumiss affects the gut microbiota of patients,and increase the relative content of beneficial bacteria and relieving the patients’symptoms and possibly improving CAG.Based on gut microbiota and combined with clinical indicators of patients,this study reveals the mechanism of drinking koumiss to alleviate the symptoms of patients with CAG,which is meaningful to treat CAG with koumiss in clinical practice. |
