In this thesis,the structure,radiation mechanism,gain enhancement and miniaturization mechanism of Vivaldi end-fire antenna are studied in depth.The design principle of the new artificial electromagnetic metamaterial is discussed.A new electromagnetic supermaterial proposed in this paper is applied to the Vivaldi antenna.Achieve goals such as increasing antenna gain.This article has the following aspects to complete the work:1.The research background and development status of wireless communication systems,the research status of metamaterials,and the development and application of metamaterials in Vivaldi end-fire antennas are briefly described.2.The related theory and basic properties of metamaterials are introduced in detail,and the basic principle of zero refractive index of metamaterials is analyzed.At the same time,the related theory and some characteristic parameters of the antenna are introduced.3.The Ansoft HFSS 16 software was used to construct a traditional Vivaldi antenna(AVA),and at the same time,multiple parameters that can affect the performance of the AVA antenna were optimized and compared.Finally,based on the designed AVA antenna model,the design of the notched AVA antenna is carried out,and the simulation results are optimized and analyzed.4.In this paper,a new modified W-shaped material(MWSM)is proposed,which is simulated by electromagnetic simulation software.The MATLAB software is used to extract the parameter values and obtain the refractive index and dielectric.A graph of constants and magnetic permeability,and analyze the results.The designed zero-refractive-index metamaterial was loaded into the notched AVA antenna to form a composite Vivaldi antenna(CVA),and the simulation results were analyzed.The results show that the gain of the CVA antenna loaded with the MWSM array is increased by 4.02 dB compared to the gain of the conventional AVA antenna,and the 3 dB width of the E and H planes in the 3D radiation pattern is reduced by 31° and 30.02°,respectively.5.The CAD model of the antenna was drawn and physically processed.The physical network was tested using a vector network analyzer,and the test results drawn by the original software were compared with the simulation results.Finally,a 2D pattern test of the object was performed using a microwave darkroom.Finally,the feasibility of the proposed scheme is proved by testing and simulation results.
