With the increasingly prominent problems of environmental pollution and energy crisis,people have increasingly strict requirements for flame retardants used in textiles.Biomass materials have attracted more and more attention in the field of flame retardant because of their wide source,low price and other advantages,which are in line with the trend of green environmental protection and sustainable development.In this paper,the effects of phytic acid,modified phytic acid,phytic acid composite with other flame retardants on the flame retardancy of polyester fabrics were studied.First,phytic acid(PA)was used as flame retardant for polyester fabric,by pad-dry-dure process.The optimum technical parameters for preparing flame retardant polyester fabric were obtained by discussing the effects of pH value of working solution,curing temperature,curing time and the mass percentage concentration of phytic acid on the LOI and whiteness of finished polyester fabric.The LOI value of the Phytic acid treated fabric can reach 30.7%,the vertical combustion test results show that the char length is 12.7 cm without after flame and after glowphenomena;the micro-combustion test results show that the maximum heat release rate and total heat release are significantly reduced;the thermogravimetric analysis results show that the residual carbon of the finished fabric increases from 5.35%to 23.33%,and the addition of phytic acid significantly changes the thermal cracking of polyester fibers.The decomposition process proved the feasibility of phytic acid as flame retardant for polyester fabrics.In view of the phenomena that polyester fabrics treated with phytic acid still have melting droplets and more smoke release,melamine and aluminium hydroxide were used to modify phytic acid.Taking the burning performance of polyester fabrics treated with different mass ratios of the composite flame retardant of three substances as the index,it was found that melting droplets decreased significantly and charring property increased with the increase of melamine contentadn smoke release has decreased.When n[PA]:n[Mel]:n[Al(OH)3]=1:1:0.5,the LOI value of the finished fabric can reach 29.4%,the char length is reduced by 17%,the thermal stability and charring properties are improved,the maximum heat release rate and smoke density are significantly reduced.In the last part of this paper,nano-silica sol doped chitosan/phytic acid hydrogel was prepared as flame retardant for polyester fabric..The optimum finishing process was discussed as follows:20%phytic acid,3%chitosan,6%LUDOX silica sol,2 h preparation time of hydrogel.The fabric was cured at 120? for 180 s.The results show that the heat release rate of the treated polyester fabric is 25.4%lower than that of the single phytic acid treated polyester fabric.And the carbon yield is increased by 41.5%,and there is no melting droplet formation.It has better thermal stability which showed synergistic flame retardant effect among phosphorus,nitrogen and silicon.However,laundering durability is still need to be further improved.After one wash,the LOI value of the fabrics decreased from 29.0%to 23.4%.
