In recent years,the riblets drag reduction technology has been widely used in engineering.The appropriate riblets on the curved surface of the integral impeller blade can effectively reduce the frictional resistance of the fluid and improve the aerodynamic performance of the engine.Compared with the cutter,the riblet has a smaller size,and the efficiency of the existing riblets machining method based on single-tooth cutter is low.In this dissertation,in order to improve the efficiency of riblets machining on the sculptured surface of the integral impeller blade,the axial flow impeller is taken as the research object,and starting with the design of the multi-tooth barrel cutter,the planning trajectory of riblets flank milling on the impeller blade is studied.The main accomplishments are concluded as follows:(1)Design of the dedicated multi-tooth barrel cutter for riblets flank milling.Firstly,considering the prevalent low efficiency of the single-tooth processing,the barrel radius of the multi-tooth barrel cutter is designed by analyzing the contact state of the cutter and the sculptured surface to be processed.Then,according to the geometry and size of riblets to be processed,the shape and pitch of the tooth is researched,and the design of the multi-tooth barrel cutter for high-efficiency flank milling of riblets is finally accomplished.(2)Research on the influence of the adjustment of tool orientation on riblets flank milling.Taking one tooth of the multi-tooth barrel cutter as an example,and researching on the influence of the front-inclination angle and lateral-deflection angle on the shape and size of riblets,the adjustment range of tool orientation during riblets processing is further determined.(3)Tool-path planning for riblets flank milling on the blade.Firstly,the shape value data of the blade and the hub is obtained through the three-dimensional modeling of the integral impeller.Then,the surface reconstruction of the blade surface is performed to ensure the curvature change of the tool-path meets the shape and size requirements of riblets machining.Finally,a tool-path planning method of riblets processing based on multi-tooth barrel cutter is proposed,and the cutter location points data and the tool orientation data during riblets processing are given.(4)Machining simulation and experiment of riblets on the blade.Firstly,the cutter location points data and the tool orientation data are used to generate NC machining program code after post processing calculation.Then,the simulation of riblets processing on the VERICUT software is accomplished.Finally,the flank milling experiment of riblets is carried out in the five-axis CNC machining center to verify the validity and efficiency of the proposed milling method with multi-tooth barrel cutter.
