Near-natural terrain restoration refers to the design and remodeling of the terrain following the destruction of artificially-destroyed terrain, such as mine wasteland, following the characteristics of the natural terrain. This enables the restoration of the terrain to give full play to the self-renewal capabilities of the natural system and achieve even greater improvements.Stable and beautiful terrain repair effect. The restoration of near-natural terrain is the basis for establishing a landscape that is in harmony with the local natural environment. It is of great significance for achieving near-natural ecological restoration. The near-natural topographical restoration design follows the rules of natural ground erosion and can create a stable landscape that resists erosion.Usually the most important factor for ground erosion is surface runoff erosion. Therefore, the core problem of near-surface topographic restoration design is the design of the river channel. It is necessary to first design a nearly natural curved channel, and then follow this channel design to follow the design of the ground undulations. The traditional method of river generation design is based on the manual design of experts using experience and knowledge. This aspect requires the designer to have a good professional experience. On the other hand,it takes a long time to manually adjust, and the design results are not accurate. In order to improve this situation, based on the knowledge of computer graphics, automatic synthesis of near natural rivers are used. This method not only facilitates user operations, but also efficiently creates near natural rivers that meet the requirements of the parameters, thus providing a good condition for near natural terrain restoration. In this work, the user first draws the area to be restored and the basic shape of the river on the topographic map.At this time, the river is called the basic river. Then, our algorithm can turn the basic river into a three-dimensional near natural river channel based on given natural river parameters and terrain elevation information. Our method has transformed the process of manual and qualitative design into a computer-based quantitative calculation process. It has made the river design process intuitive, accurate, and quick. It has also laid a good foundation for the next step of natural terrain adjustment. The main work of this paper is:(1)The generation of near-natural curved channels.Based on the Rosgen River classification theory, the user defined two-dimensional river line segment is transformed into a "Z" shaped channel, and the B-type river is smoothed;(2)Calculation of the vertical section of the river.Generate longitudinal profiles of river channels for interactive observation and analysis by users;(3)Synthesis of three-dimensional river channels. The width and depth ratio of the river and the given width of the river are used to determine the cross section of the river, and a three-dimensional river channel is synthesized with the longitudinal section of the river.River channel synthesis is a key prerequisite for the near natural restoration of the terrain. This work provides a computer-based method for automated terrain design, which has research significance and application value for realizing automated and intelligent design of terrain remediation in abandoned mine areas.
