Graphite can be widely used in many fields,such as metallurgy,casting,chemical industry,machinery,electronics,national defense,aerospace,and so on,of which the use of flake graphite is of great value.With the depletion of high quality flaky graphite resources,it is gradually necessary to research the mineral processing technology for flake graphite in medium and fine scale.The graphite ores,with complex structure and fine granularity,have the high content of mica in Nanjiang,therefore an experimental research on the mineral processing and comprehensive recovery for mica from flotation tailing are of great importance for the comprehensive development and utilization of the graphite ore resources in this local area.The paper takes the graphite ore of Nanjiang in Sichuan province as the object in the research.From the following four aspects—the characteristics of the crude ore,the grinding process,the flotation reagent system and tailings utilization,this paper systematically studies the mineral processing for flake graphite,as well as the recovery processing for Mica from Tailings.The main research contents and results were as follow:?1?Mineralogy features of graphite ore in Nanjiang.Graphite Ore mainly consists of graphite and mica,as well as containment of feldspar quartz and chlorite,of which graphite and mica are the most valuable recycling minerals.Graphite exists in a scaly and article assembly form.Its mosaic size is relatively fine,whose content of-0.074 mm is 52.24%.The mica exists in strip-shape,whose content is 30%.?2?Grinding methods and choosing medication tests.Rod grinding offers a good protective effect on flake graphite both in medium and fine scale.The flotation effect is optimal when the grinding fineness is-0.074 mm 75%.Emulsified kerosene provides good selectivity and high collective ability for graphite,and the fixed carbon content of concentrate is 5.05%and 5.01%respectively higher than that of kerosene and diesel under the same dosage condition.Besides,recovery is 11.73%and 14.91%higher.Its optimal condition for rough separation:Limestone dosage of 500 g/t,sodium silicate dosage of 500g/t,collector dosage of 800 g/t,2#oil dosage of 120 g/t.At an optimal condition,the fixed carbon content will be 36.19%,and the recovery of rough concentrates with 60.05%.?3?Tests of selected grinding,flotation and middling treatment.The suitable process for treatment of flake graphite in medium and fine scale is firstly one crude grinding,one roughing and two scavenging;Rough concentrate needs five regrinding and six re-cleaning;Middling1-3 needs to centrally return back for roughing process.Middling 4-8 combines and re-select.Reselected concentrate returns back to the first concentrate cleaning.Reselected tailings directly deserted.The fixed carbon content is 81.21%under a closed circuit test with this process,and the recovery of graphite concentrate is 72.56%.?4?Complex utilization of graphite flotation of mica in tailings.When graphite flotation tailings have a recovering of mica after a pre-desliming,with H2SO4 dosage of 2000 g/t,lauryl amine dosage 150 g/t,sodium silicate dosage of200 g/t under a flotation condition,it's able to obtain the mica concentrate,which the K2O content is 8.57%,and the recovery is 8.96%.
