Organic chemistry is one of the four basic chemistry of colleges and universities, and permeates in many fields. However, due to the complex knowledge, abstract theory, and more reaction principles, many students have difficulty in learning. The "problem based learning(PBL)" for the students to create a close to real life situation, lets the student in the at the same time to solve the problem before you know it will build the knowledge framework and can effectively cultivate students' skills. The University of Delaware is one of the more successful universities in implementing the PBL teaching model. This article will introduce in detail how the Intermediate Metabolism course uses the PBL teaching model and hopes to provide new ideas for the reform of organic chemistry teaching. The thesis is divided into six parts. The introduction elaborates the reasons for the topic selection, the present situation of PBL teaching at home and abroad, the problems faced by organic chemistry in China's universities and the teaching reform, and finally explains the research significance and methods of the thesis. The first chapter summarizes the PBL teaching mode; The second and third chapters introduce the specific implementation steps of "intermediate metabolism" PBL course. Then the fourth chapter introduces the two teaching cases used in the course. The fifth chapter discusses the transmission mode of PBL teaching mode. The sixth chapter is the research conclusion and enlightenment. It is suggested that the teaching of organic chemistry in China should be improved by strengthening teacher training, changing students' ideas, selecting teaching content, establishing PBL evaluation system and improving teaching conditions.
