The design of fabric is an important part of fabric production process for weaving company.Designers need to design and proof repeatedly in the process of designing fabric patterns,and each time of proofing process requires a lot of labor,material resources and time.Fabric simulation and display using computer graphics technology can greatly reduce design and proofing costs,thereby increasing fabric production efficiency.However,there is a big gap between the fabrics image simulated by the existing fabric CAD system and the real fabrics,and the reference value to the designer is low.Therefore,there is high value of improving the realism of the simulated fabric and to display it on 3D models.This paper designs a 2D simulation and 3D display system for woven fabrics.The system extracts the latitude and longitude texture information from real woven fabric scanning map,and we can get realistic 2D simulation image of fabric using this information,finally map the simulation image to the 3D model,so that the designers can reference the design result.The system include two parts:fabric 2D simulation system and fabric 3D display system.For fabric 2D simulation system,this paper proposes a Translational Subtraction Algorithm(TSA),and uses this algorithm to extract the fabric pattern grid,and then this paper designs a BP neural network based method for fabric warp and weft separate,the we use fabric texture map algorithm to get fabric organization simulation image.Finally,we apply different simulation image on different part of index color map,so that we can obtain the 2D simulation image of fabric.Fabric 3D display system,we use the WebGL technology to achieve 3D scene construction,and then use the 2D mesh mapping technology to display the 2D simulation image of the fabric on 3D models.The system designed in this paper runs on the Web platform,and users can access the system easily and quickly through the Internet and browsers.The system can quickly provide users with realistic 2D simulation image of fabrics and display the image on 3D models,thus user can shorten the cycle of fabric design.The system has been put into use in two enterprises and received good feedback.
