The oil pollution is an increasing threat to the nature and the human health.Therefore,effective separation of oil from the oily wastewater is a challenging task.Among many oil-water separation methods,the oil-water separation membrane has the advantages of high separation efficiency and no secondary pollution and has been widely concerned in recent years.First,the conjugated poly-p-phenylenes were self-assembled on filter paper to prepare the superhydrophobic and superoleophilic filter paper by the nonsolvent vapor method.The numerous micro-nano particles covered on the filter paper,just like the surface of the lotus leaf,increased the surface roughness of the filter paper,so the modified filter paper has excellent superhydrophobic properties.Through characterization and testing,the super-hydrophobic filter paper exhibited good mechanical stability,excellence resistance of acid and alkali and self-cleaning properties.Through the experiment of oil-water separation,the separation efficiency reached above 95%and could be applied in the separation of petrochemical waste water.In addition,the service life of filter paper is not ideal.Thus,the polyimides are self-assembled on the copper mesh by hydrothermal method to prepare the polyimide-supported copper mesh.And then surface modification is performed using dodecanoyl chloride to prepare super-hydrophobic copper mesh,which showed good mechanical properties and excellence resistance of acid and alkali.The meshes could be used to separate the oil/water mixtures.The separation efficiency was as high as 99.8%,and the separation efficiency was still above 99%after 10 cycles,which indicated the good reusability.It was expected to be applied in the treatment of industrial oily wastewater.This is our goal to prepare oil-water separation materials by using natural materials via a simple method.Furthermore,urushiol,a natural product derived from the sap of lacquer trees,was applied to self-assembly on the different substrates such as polyurethane sponge,cotton,non-woven fabric,and filter paper.These materials were used for oil-water separation.Among the materials,urushiol modified filter paper could be used for the separation of water-in-oil emulsions.And other materials also had high oil-water separation efficiency with above 99%.
