Black soldier fly, which has been found with the characteristic of converting a diverse range of nutrient substances waste?animal manure, restaurant waste, and fermentation straw?into insect biomass with high contents of protein and lipids?20-40%?.The insects with high contents of saturated fatty acid and unsaturated fatty acid may be an excellent oil resource.Based on the previous research, our team developed a new approach by using black soldier fly larva to dispose of kitchen wastes. This way was used to mitigate energy and environment problems in our city. The insects with active components?lipids, protein, chitin?were processed into high-end biological products. This idea may be met the needs of agricultural economic development and environmental protection in China. The effect of pretreatment process on the extraction lipids was investigated preliminary in this study. And the application of microwave assisted for the lipid extraction from the energy insect will be reported in literature.A response surface methodology obtained from a multivariate study was used to investigate the performance of the extraction procedure,to study the relevance of the variables required in extraction and to determinate the final optimal settings. At last, based on the exposed above, the comparison of the effects of commonly extraction solvent on the kinetic and thermodynamic study of extraction lipids from the energy insect will be studied and discussed in detail in this study. The main results were as follows:The effects of different cell rupture methods on the lipids extraction efficiency were discussed. The results showed that the rupture effect of high speed homogeneous was better than that of other pretreatment methods. The lipids recovery were 26.38%used the high speed homogeneous.SEM showed most of cells were broken. The effects of dryer methods?force air drying, microwave drying, vacuum drying?on the lipids recovery and composition. The drying rate of microwave was fastest. It was found that the extraction lipids contained nine fatty acid for force air drying and vacuum drying. However, the extraction lipids contained only eight fatty acid for microwave drying. The characteristic constant results showed the iodine value was low?45-55 gI2/100g?for the three drying methods.?2?The application of microwave assisted for the lipid extraction from the energy insect has been reported in literature.Influence of operating parameters?solvent types, microwave powder, extraction temperature, extraction time, and solid-solvent ratio?on the extraction yield will be studied and evaluated.A response surface methodology obtained from a multivariate study was used to investigate the performance of the extraction procedure,to study the relevance of the variables required in extraction and to determinate the final optimal settings. The results showed that three factors influenced the lipids extraction yield. The optimum lipids extraction condition:solid-solvent ratio was 1:15;extraction time was 50 min;extraction temperature was 60?.The characteristic constant results showed acid value was 9.69 mgKOH/g;saponification value was 73.38mgKOH/100g;iodine value was 60.81 gI2/100g;peroxide value was 7.08 mmol/kg.The total FA contents in the raw extract were of 99.05%with the most abundant fatty acids being the oleinic and palmitic acids?22.54%and 20.96%,respectively?.?3?Based on the exposed above, the comparison of the effects of commonly extraction solvents on the kinetic and thermodynamic study of extraction lipids from the energy insect was studied and discussed in detail in this study. The extraction process may be roughly divided into two stages?035 min and 3550 min?.With respect to petroleum ether or n-hexane solvent, the chloroform showed higher extraction kinetic rate constant values during the lipids extraction process. The magnitudes of the diffusion coefficients range from 6.7×10-1216.1×10-12 m2/s.The values of the activation energy Ea were 84.26kJ/mol during the diffusion stage?30?60??.The diffusion of lipids in the solvent constituted the limitation step in the process of extraction.Further, the three thermodynamic parameters results??H,?S,?G?were about 4.376.76 kJ/mol,18.7328.01 J/mol,and-2.57-1.31kJ/mol,respectively.
