| Inorganic/polymer core-shell microspheres have attracted much attention in various fields due to their advantages of both inorganic materials and polymeric materials,especially in the application of plate display spacer materials.The inorganic spacer materials currently used are too hard to scratch the upper and lower glass substrates,and the polymer spacer materials have poor pressure resistance and insufficient heat resistance.Therefore,great efforts have been made to prepare a kind of core-shell microspheres composed of inorganic materials as the core and polymer materials as the shell.The core-shell microspheres can solve the existing problems in both of current materials at the same time,and also maximize the excellent performance.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Micron-sized silica microspheres were prepared via the modified St?ber method,and tetraethylorthosilicate(TEOS)as the silicon source.Then the influences of the amount of TEOS,the concentration of the electrolyte,ammonia,and water on the particle size were discussed.And the surface of the microspheres was modified by silane coupling agent.Finally,its morphology,structure and particle size were characterized.(2)Polystyrene coated microspheres were preliminarily prepared by emulsion polymerization method,using silica microspheres as the seeds,and styrene as monomers.then the microspheres were used as the seeds to prepare silica/polystyrene core-shell microspheres with smooth surface.Then the effects of the amount of monomer and emulsifier,the amount and size of seed microspheres on the thickness of the shell and the morphology of microspheres were investigated in detail.Finally,its morphology,structure and particle size were characterized.(3)Surface-crosslinked silica/polystyrene core-shell microspheres were prepared by dispersion polymerization method,using once-wrapped silica/polystyrene microspheres as the seeds,divinylbenzene as the crosslinking agent,and polyvinylpyrrolidone as the stabilizer.Then the effects of the concentration of the cross-linking agent and the stabilizer,the volume ratio of ethanol and water in the solvent on the morphology and the monodisperse property of the core/shell microspheres were examined.Finally,its morphology,structure,particle size and heat resistance were characterized. |
