With the increasing awareness of environmental protection,the harm of mineral oil-based cutting fluids to the environment and human body has been paid more and more attention.Environmentally friendly cutting fluid and dry/semi-dry cutting are two main directions to solve this problem.Vegetable oil-based cutting fluids have attracted extensive attention for their good lubricity and degradability in environmental protection.Broaching machine is an indispensable part of modern manufacturing industry.It has high manufacturing accuracy,high cutting efficiency,high surface quality,simple structure.And broaching machine is widely used for the massive parts and the production of large parts.It is widely used in aerospace,shipping,nuclear industry and other high-precision processing fields.It is often used to manufacture key grooves,internal splines,internal gears,large planes and other important parts of important parts.Because broaching is closed processing method,it is difficult for cutting fluid to penetrate into the tool-chip interface.Although minimum quantity lubrication(MQL)technology has been applied in various processing fields,flooding cutting fluid is still used in broaching machine.It is necessary to study the greening of broaching cutting fluid.This paper presents a vegetable oil-based nano-fluid cutting fluid which can solve the environmental pollution problem of cutting fluid to a certain extent.The influence of the penetration characteristics of the cutting fluid in the tool-chip slit on the processing effect was analyzed and discussed based on hydrodynamic theory analysis,simulation and experimental research.The main work and achievements of the paper are as follows:(1)Aiming at the difficulty observation of cutting fluid penetration in broaching,a tool-chip-like slit test-bed was built,which can simulate the geometric shape of the tool-chip slit and the dynamic penetration process of cutting fluid in the tool-chip slit.(2)The dynamic penetration characteristics of cutting fluid in the tool-chip-like slit test-bed are studied.The image processing method is used to evaluate and quantify the penetration velocity of cutting fluid,and the results are compared with simulation on Fluent.(3)Using vegetable soybean oil as base fluid,nanofluids cutting fluids were prepared by adding different concentration of nano-graphite particles,and their permeability characteristics were studied and analyzed.(4)Vegetable oil-based nanofluids cutting fluids with different concentrations are applied to broaching.By comparing the broaching load and chips,the influence of penetration characteristics of cutting fluids on broaching is studied and analyzed.
