In recent years,more and more correlation were found that the application of functional textiles is benefit to human health.The antibacterial textiles significantly increase the added value of products significantly.Therefore,it is a great potentiality and a great marketable value to develop and research the antibacterial textiles.In the past few years,the business of antibacterial textile industry in C hina has grown by leaps and bounds.The antibacterial textile industry even began to form an emerging industry in all over the world.With the development of science and technology,the production processes has already diversified greatly by combining the antibacterial agents and textiles.And the use of antibacterial agent takes an important role in the effect of antibacterial test.With the reason of blooming antibacterial textile industry and of the antibacterial effect becoming an important quality indicator,many countries have established a standard system for antibacterial textiles.The test result would be quite different even with same kind of samples when using different strains or test standards.The reason would be the different test conditions of these methods,such as sample preparation,sample amount,the water absorption requirement of the sample,bacteria culture medium,culture media,buffer spices,cultivation cycles and culture mode.Manufactures should obey international trade rules in trade active,they are requested to provide antibacterial testing reports issued by third-party detection institutions.However the antimicrobial testing system is not perfect enough.And there is no unified test standard yet.Based on the reasons mentioned above,the manufactures can't decide which standard is suitable to use.And it impacts the international trade of antibacterial textile.In this paper,the different doses of silver ion antibacterial agent were added in the same kind of textiles as samples.And standards of AATCC 100-2012,JIS L 1902-2015,EN ISO 20743:2013,GB/T 20944.2-2007 were tested.Several typical pathogens bacteria,such as Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538,Escherichia coli ATCC 8739,Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 9027,Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 4352 and Candida albicans ATCC 10231 were used according to the requirements of different standards.The Origin 8.5 software was used to compare and to evaluate the results with four test standards and five kinds of pathogens performed.The paper summarizes the test characteristics of each standard and analyzes the detailed requirement.By comparing the results of different methods,it can be concluded that the results of all five strains are stable with JIS L 1902-2015 while the most unstable is with GB/T 20944.2-2007.Comparing the results with the five strains,it can be found that stability of Escherichia coli is better than other strains.And Candida albicans is the worst.In addition,this paper gives some introduction of quantitative detection and qualitative description.Some discussion of the influencing factors of antibacterial tests,including the choice of microbes,the preparation of microbes,control sample,sample volume,incubation time,OD value of microbes,temperature and surface active agent and other critical factor were also mentioned in this paper.At the end of this paper,it points out the suggestions of how to revise the further antibacterial test standard.
