| With the rapid development of economy and people living during the twenty-first Century,the focus on the global environmental problems is becoming more and more pressing.The large output of municipal solid waste(MSW),as a by-product of human activities,is difficult to dispose.It inevitably becomes the concern of global.Therefore,there should be some solutions toeliminate its impact on the development of cities.As a common disposal of municipal solid waste,landfill is widely adopted over the world because of its simple operation,low-investment and low-cost.However,with theever-increasing pace of urbanization in China,the old landfill now has become the scarce land.The stabilization of landfill is a long-term process,and the reaction in landfill is complexed.In order to build an eco-city of sustainable development,it is necessary to take some messures to accelerate the stabilization of landfill,and try the best to reduce or eliminate the hazards of landfill.Because of its relatively rapid stabilization speed,minor secondary contamination,the aerobic biological method,gradually become the main restoration technique of aged orsealed landfill.Based on the above,bioaugmentation was proposed to accelerate the stabilization of MSW.The main research contents and results were described as follows:(1)By providing a high temperature,simulated MSW with aerobic microbial inoculant wasstudied.The experimental results showed that theaerobic microbial inoculant had goodbiological degradation of lignocellulose.(2)The aerobic microbial inoculant was further improved by adding several microbials.Itwas further found that t adding nutrients favored the growth of microorganisms duringthe treatment.(3)An aerobic bioreactor was designed and manufacturedforstimulating aerobic degradationof MSW.Experimental results by using this bioreactor showed that the inoculatedthermophilic aerobic bacteria could induced a heating of landfill to temperature above50℃.It maintained relatively strong populations and their metabolic activityat a highlevel.The biodegradation and transformation of organic matter in the landfill wassignificantly accelerated,and the stabilization process of the landfill was also accelerated.Moreover,the pollution load of the leachate was also reduced,and the settlementperformance of landfill wasenhanced.It is helpful to the whole process of landfill removaland the subsequent maintenance.By inoculating thermophilic aerobic microorganism in the MSW,it provides a way to accelerate the aerobic stabilization of landfill.The results of this study have has significant meaning for the research on the stabilization of aged or sealed MSW landfill in our country. |
