High viscosity PP is a kind of fiber with novel and high performance.It has a high softening point,and it can be used at 110~120℃.High viscosity PP has numerous properties,such as impact resistance,chemical resistance,etc.What’s more,compared with UHMWPE,high viscosity PP owns higher hardness,melting point and heat resistance.But because of ultra high molecular weight,high melt viscosity,it is difficult to flow and spin for high viscosity PP.Hence,it is very important to discuss and research the melt spinning of high viscosity PP.It was researched via blending high viscosity PP with organosilicone.The action mechanism,properties of thermal,crystallization and rheology were studied by FTIR,TG,DSC,POM,XRD,DMA,melt flow indexer and capillary rheometer.The transfer behavior of organosilicone,melt spinning process,fiber tensile test,structure,morphology and mechanical properties of high viscosity PP fiber were researched by means of EDS,the micro contact angle measurement instrument,electronic single fiber strength tester,SEM and sound velocity orientation instrument.The results showed that:1.FTIR indicated that,there were absorption peaks of Si-O and-NHCO-at 1024cm-1 and 1645cm-1 relatively,it demonstrated high viscosity PP reacted with organosilicone under mechanical force and heat.2.TG results showed that,the thermostability in N2 was higher than that in air for high viscosity PP,and the adding of organosilicone improved the thermostability to 394.0℃.The studies of XRD,POM and DSC indicated that,organosilicone induced heterogeneous nucleation and β crystal form,quickened the crystallization rate,minished the spherulite size,and it was benificial to obtain the more draw ratios and good tenacity fibers.3.High viscosity PP was a pseudoplastic fluid.With shearing rate increasing,its apparent viscosity decreased;and with the temperature rising,the apparent viscosity also decreased.Otherwise,the adding of organosilicone improved the MFR from 3.9g/10min to 6.5g/10min,reduced the viscous flow activation energy and improved the processing fluidity.DMA results declared that,organosilicone boosted glass-transition temperature(Tg)and storage modulus(E’),enhanced mechanical property of fibers.4.EDS and the micro contact angle measurement instrument showed that,Si removed in high viscosity PP with different temperatures,organosilicone enlarged the contact angle to 108.8°,and improved the surface smoothness of fibers.Act as internal and external lubricant,organosilicone increased the draw ratio and breaking strength,lowered the temperature of the melt spinning and component stress.5.Melt spinning process parameters and extension test indicated that,organosilicone brought down the temperature of the melt spinning,improved the phenomena of fracture and asymmetry for fibers.Besides,it increased draw ratio.The fibers with breaking strength of 12.39cN/dtex were obtained.
