Trimethylolpropane tribenzoate and Pentaerythritol tetrabenzoate belong to polyols benzoic acid ester compounds.Their chemical names are 1,3-propanediol,2-[(benzoyloxy)methyl]-2-ethyl-dibenzoate and 1,3-propanediol,2,2-bis[(benzoyloxy)methyl]-,1,3-dibenzoate,Respectively,they are usually used as plasticizers,and also are used as soldering flux compositions,solvents for organic UV filters and rapidly crystallization agents.In addition,PTTB is an excellent organic solvent under high temperature,antistatic,adhesives and solid component in Titanium catalyst.They have obtained great attention in market for wide application,lower pollution,small toxicity,and small development strength.Firstly,on the basis of current research works,we chose the benzoic acid as acylating agent,which reacts with trimethylolpropane and pentaerythritol,respectivel-y.After that,the experimental plan and process for two products were obtained,and several reaction influential factors were studied in detail,including the mol ratio of reaction materials,catalyst dosage,reaction time and reaction temperature.Secondly,the products obtained by esterification reaction are crude products,so we studied the purification programs,in which the removal and possible changes of the catalysts were discussed in detail.For TMPTB,the optimum conditions are as follows:the mol ratio of BA and TMP is 0.310mol:0.1 mol,the dosage of SnO is 0.0022 mol,the reaction temperature is 200 C,of the reaction time is 4h,and the reaction yield was 96%?97%under these optimum reaction conditions.For TMPTB,we selected the tertbutanol as annealed solvent and determined the optimum moisture of tertbutanol is 10%through the investigation of the effects of moisture on the physical state of tertbutanol and the result of crystallization.Under this condition,the crystallization yield is 91.3%.For PTTB,the optimum conditions are as follows:the mol ratio of BA and PER is 0.420mol:0.1mol,the dosage of SnO is 0.0030 mol,the reaction temperature is 210 C,the reaction time is 4.5h,and the reaction yield was 96%?97%under these optimum reaction conditions.For PTTB,we firstly analyzed the resource of the impurities in pentaerythritol tetrabenzoate,then studied the effect of ethanol,DMF and ethanol/DMF double solution on the result of the products purification,which indicate that the ethanol/DMF double solvent solution gives the best purification effect.And the quality of the DMF in ethanol is 7.4%with the crystallization yield of 85.4%Our paper studied on synthesis and technology of polyols benzoic acid ester TMPTB and PTTB.For their industrial,we made certain theoretical foundation,and development a new road for researching a kind of green,environmental and non-toxic plasticizer.
