Evaluation Of Performance And Technology Research Of Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Prepreg

Prepreg is a composite materials made of resin matric and reinforcement,imprepregnated with resin of continuous fibers or fabrics under a strictly controlled conditions,and is a manufacture of composite materials.Some of its properties directly into the composite,is the foundation of the composite.With the resesrch and development of composite materials continues to propress,the field continues to expand,the different manufacturing process and working conditions of composite has different demands on the prepreg,and the requirements of prepreg are also incresing.Therefore,itfs need to establish a eomprehensive performance evaluation system of prepreg,to make a deep understanding of the prepreg’s performance.This paper focuses on the prepreg materials-resin and prepreg preformance analysis and evaluation.Firstly,this paper tests three types of prepreg resin for chemical and mechanical properties.By means of Infrared analysis,testing three types of characteristics of resin group,and characterization of epoxy indices to evaluate the effects of storage period on resin curing.Followed by Differential Scanning Calorimetricmeter show the thennal properties of the resin,testing the heat of the curing reaction and the conversion rate of curing process.Using the thermal plate to test the gel time.Finally,by tensile and flexural tests,charactering the mechanical properties of resin.Though the above tests,was informed that the molecular structures is slightly different of three resin group,thus leading to different thermal properties,gel time and mechanical properties of the resin.But most characteristic group of resin are same,the performance of resin is similar,such as the relationship between index of epoxy and storage of resin,as the extension of the storage period,resin curing reactions happened inside,lead to epoxy fell,however,the magnitude of three kinds of epoxy resin fell not that far away.Next,analysis the physical properties of the two kinds of prepreg,mainly through the surface density test,the resin content test,the volatile content test,the prereg gel time test and adhesive,to characterized the physical properties of prepreg.By the above test,can comprehensively character the physical properties of the prepreg,while feedback the imprepregnation process and make an actual guide for prepreg producting.
