Arylalkyl sulfonate surfactant,whose structure is similar to heavy alkyl benzene sulfonate,allows the sulfonate group to be attached to the end of the alkyl chain rather than the aromatic ring.It has unique advantages in the solubility,interfacial activity,thermal stability,salt resistance and biodegradability.In this paper,bicomponent aryl alkyl sulfonates containing phenol hydroxyl and d ifferent carbon chains-nonylphenol alkyl sulfonate surfactants(C12/n-NPAS,n=8,10,14,16)were synthesized through sulfonation,alkylation and neutralization with a bicomp onent alpha olefin,SO3 and nonylphenol as raw materials.The inflence of the alkylati on reaction temperature,raw material ratio and reaction time on the yield of C12/n-NP AS were studied and the optimum synthesis conditions were obtained by signal factor experiments and orthogonal experiments.After that,the product was characterized by FT-IR and MS structural characterization methods.The influence of the carbon chain length of nonylphenol alkyl sulfonate surfactant on surface tension,the minimum inte rfacial tension and foam performance,salt resistance,emulsifying properties,adsorption and wettability was studied.The results show that:(1)The molecular structure of pre-pared products meet with the molecular structure of design nonylphenol alkyl sulfonate surfactants;(2)With the increase of alkyl chain length,CMC of C12/n-NPAS decrease,whileγCMCMC of C12/n-NPAS first decrease and then increase.The surface activity of C12/n-NPAS surfactant is better than C12/n-NPAS surfactant;(3)With increasing the length of alkyl chain,the lowest point of interfacial tension(IFTmin)of C12/n-NPAS decreases first and then increases.The C12/14-NPAS shows the lowest IFTminin value of 9.78×10-3mN·m-1,which is lower than C12-NPAS;(4)The salt resistance and emulsification of prepared products are superior to C12-NPAS.Foamability and stability of C12/10-NPAS and C12/14-NPAS are the best.The anti adsorption properties of C12/14-NPAS is the sm allest,and the smallest adsorption capacity on the surface of the oil sands is 3.72μmo l/g,which is superier to C12-NPAS.The surface contact angles of prepared products o n the oil-wet surface are slightly greater than the C12-NPAS and that of C12/10-NPAS i s the smallest,which possesses the best wettability alteration performace of oil wet su rface.
