With the rapid development of electric power industry,it has become the trend to develop large capacity and high parameter powerunit in our country.Thus,higher requirements on water and vapor quality are demanded with the development of unit capacity and parameter.As the only chemical monitoring index to direct evaluation of iron equipment antisepsis ability,it has great significance to develop fastaccurate and reliable measurements for power plant steam iron ions to ensure the safe operation of the electric power production unit.In this paper,the detection methods of iron ions,including their principles,advantages,disadvantages and applicable scope were summarized in detail.Besides,the flow injection technique was introduced in detail,including the principle of flow analysis technology,the basic component of flow analyzer,the important parameters in flow injection analysis system.The trace ions detection system using flow injection spectrophotometry was presented in this paper.In the experiment,the optimal experimental conditions influencing the system sensitivity were determinedusing the method of single factor variables.Detailedly,all the parameters and conditions are as follows: reagent pump speed 10 r/min(flow rate 0.4 mL/min),load flow pump speed60 r/min(flow rate 2.4 mL/min),sample size 300 mu,buffer pH 3.8,restore coil length 6cm,color coil length 170 cm,ascorbic acid concentration 10 mg/L,TPTZ concentration 40 mg/L,sample standard solutionpH between 2.25 ~ 3.00.The standard curve for the determination of trace ironions was drawn under the optimal experimental conditions.The results showed that when the sample concentration is in the range of 0.5~80?g/L,the linear correlation of the standard curve was 0.999 with the relative standard deviation less than 1%.Further,the recovery rate was between 93.96%~103.37% and the detection limit can reach 0.5 ?g/L which is a very satisfactory result.
