| Pool fire is a very common fire accident in petroleum,chemical and other industries.Fire and heat radiation from the pool fire will not only cause direct damage to the people and equipments around it,but also ignite other combustibles,resulting in a larger fire and explosion event.Liquid fuel that leaks to the long and narrow area such as the trench,once be ignited can form long rectangular pool fire.So,it is of great significance to study the combustion characteristics and thermal radiation model of the rectangular pool fire for the safety development of petroleum and chemical industry.In this paper,the combustion characteristics,the thermal radiation model and the thermal radiation damage curve of the stable rectangular pool fire in open space are studied,by two methods that the theoretical studying and the numerical simulation.The combustion characteristics includes the burning rate,heat release rate,flame geometry and flame height.The thermal radiation model includes the solid flame model,the flame surface emission power,the angle of view coefficient,the atmospheric transmittance and the research about target radiation heat flux.Summarizing the semi-empirical model of the thermal radiation of the rectangular pool fire.Building several rectangular pool fires with different aspect ratio,using semi-empirical model to calculation and using the FDS to simulating.Finally,studying the thermal radiation damage criterion of the rectangular pool fire,drawing and analyzing the thermal radiation damage curve. |
