Monomer casting?MC?nylon is one of the most important engineering plastics,but its further application of was limited for its poor self-lubricating and low wear resistance.MC nylon with lubricating oil showed good friction performance.However,the addition of oil usually resulted in a loss of mechanical properties of MC nylon.In this paper,graphene oxide?GO?,octadecylamine modified graphene oxide?GO-ODA?and graphene oxide?GO?/lanthanum chloride?LaCl3?were used to improve the mechanical properties of oil-impregnated MC nylon.Firstly,GO was synthesized through modified Hummers method and characterized by AFM,TEM,elemental analysis,XRD and FTIR.And the modified GO-ODA was prepared by glycidyl trimethyl ammonium chloride?GTA?and octadecylamine?ODA?.Secondly,oil-impregnated MC nylon/GO composites and oil-impregnated MC nylon/GO-ODA composites were prepared by in-situ polymerization,and the mechanical properties,friction performance,contact angle,SEM and XRD of composites were tested.Compared to oil-impregnated MC nylon,the oil-impregnated MC nylon/GO composites with 0.02 wt%GO exhibited excellent comprehensive properties.The flexural strength,compressive strength and impact strength increased by 18.7%,10.9%and 22.0%,respectively,and elastic modulus and flexural modulus increased by 2.7%and 6.3%,respectively.In addition,friction coefficient and abrasion quantity decreased by 18.8%and63.1%.But the elongation at break reduced by 44.8%.The comprehensive properties of oil-impregnated MC nylon/GO-ODA composites with 0.02 wt%GO-ODA were significantly improved,compared with those of oil-impregnated MC nylon.The flexural strength,compressive strength and impact strength increased by 3.5%,8.4%and 26.2%,respectively,and elastic modulus increased by 5.9%.In addition,friction coefficient and abrasion quantity decreased by 25.0%and 65.8%.But the elongation at break reduced by21.8%,which was greatly improved.Finally,the oil-impregnated MC nylon/GO/LaCl3 composites were obtained.The mechanical properties,friction performance,contact angle,SEM and XRD of the composites were studied.The properties of the oil-impregnated MC nylon/GO/LaCl3 composites with0.01 wt%GO and 0.007 wt%LaCl3 were improved obviously,compared with those of oil-impregnated MC nylon/GO composites.The flexural strength,compressive strength and impact strength increased by 9.9%,7.2%and 40.3%,respectively.At the same time,elastic modulus and the elongation at break increased by 6.1%and 24.4%.
