Taps are a kind of commonly used internal thread processing tool,the tap structure is complex,the traditional tool design method can not accurately analyze the tap strength,stress and so on.In the tap design process,due to the large number of parameters,the researchers need to re-type the different specifications tap Modeling,resulting in low design efficiency,restricting the tap development speed.Aiming at the problems in the design and manufacture of the tap,the mathematical model and the mechanical model of the tap are established on the basis of the deep study of the taps physical model and the geometric structure parameters,and the parametric solid modeling and geometric parameter optimization of the tap are studied.Firstly,based on the analysis of the geometrical structure of the spiral trough,the mathematic equation of the helix and the undercut are discussed by referring to the typical rotary tool edge modeling method.The geometrical meaning of each segment in the truncated shape of the tapered edge,and the relationship between each line segment is established,and the mathematical model of the end truncation is established.Secondly,based on the mathematical model of taper,based on the idea of differential,the prediction model of tap cutting force is established on the basis of the study of bevel cutting mechanism.The influence of structural variable on tapability is analyzed and analyzed.Geometric structure parameters,the tap structure and the end of the truncated were optimized.Then,with UG 3D design software as the supporting platform,combined with UG /Open tools,COM components and database technology,after the compilation and connection of the program,the development of the spiral taps of the parametric modeling system to improve the tool development speed,Laid the foundation for the follow-up simulation.Finally,a single factor simulation test and a quadrature combination simulation experiment scheme are designed with the cone angle,cone angle,helix angle and speed as the experimental factors.The three-dimensional model of the tap is introduced into the finite element software,and the tap is simulated and cut,The torque simulation data are obtained.According to the simulation results,the influence of the parameters on the tappingtorque is analyzed.The regression equation of taper torque is established by nonlinear regression technique.Taking the minimum torque in the regression equation as the goal,the genetic algorithm is used to optimize the tap angle parameters.And the static and modal analysis of the tap is carried out to verify the rationality of the optimized tap structure.The results show that the established taper math and cutting force model are of great reference value for the study of taper cutting mechanism.The proposed three-dimensional parametric modeling of taps and structural optimization methods for enterprises to provide a new technical guidance methods to improve the production efficiency and reduce the waste of tool materials.
