Compared with thermosetting composites,thermoplastic composites have the advantages of short forming cycle,recyclability and high temperature resistance.The forming technology that combines thermoplastic composites and in-situ consolidation technology has a broad space for development in the future.This paper focuses on the thermoplastic composite material winding / in-situ consolidation process,which studies the temperature distribution in the winding process.Temperature control system is builded to control the substrate temperature accurately.The response surface method is used to design the winding test.The influence of the process parameters and coupling on the mechanical properties of the NOL ring are analyzed,then the optimal process parameters are obtained.The temperature history of the thermoplastic composite material affects the forming quality of the components.It is important to study the temperature change during the winding process.Therefore,the simulation and experimental verification of the temperature field during the thermoplastic composite material winding process are carried out.The two-dimensional heat transfer mathematic model of the winding process is established.Based on the ANSYS finite element software,transient thermal analysis of the thermoplastic composites is carried out.The temperature history of the substrate lay-up is obtained by time history post-processing.The substrate temperature field measurement system during the winding is designed to measure the ply temperature and storage it online.The experimental measurements are compared to the simulation data,which verify the accuracy of finite element simulation.In order to ensure the quality of the thermoplastic composite winding components,a temperature control system is proposed to control the temperature during the winding process accurately.Using Siemens S7-300 PLC as hardware and STEP7 software to design incremental PID controller to achieve the thermoplastic winding process temperature control.Based on the thermoplastic winding test platform,a laser heating temperature control system is set up.The temperature of the prepreg winding process is adjusted and controlled by PID program to verify the effectiveness of the temperature control scheme.According to the response surface method,the NOL ring is prepared by winding test on the existing thermoplastic composite material winding platform.The mechanical properties such as the tensile strength and the interlaminar shear strength of NOL ring is taken as the optimization target.Research on the influences of the processing parameters,such as the resin content,the pressure of the roller and the winding speed,furthermore their interaction effects on mechanical properties of NOL ring.A prediction model is established to analyze the influence of various parameters on the mechanical properties of NOL ring.After confirming the accuracy of the model,the best process parameters are obtained by the model.
