In this paper,sol-gel method was used to prepare the mesoporous TiO2,C/TiO2,Nd2O3/TiO2 and C/Nd2O3/TiO2.SDBS/C/Nd2O3/TiO2 and multistage orderly C/Nd2O3/TiO2catalytic materials were prepared by using the template agent of anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate?SDBS?and polystyrene?PS?colloid crystal.The surface morphology,crystal structure,chemical form,specific surface area and entrance light absorption performance,and the electronic structure and state density of catalytic materials were characterized by SEM,TEM,XRD,XPS and UV–vis DRS and N2adsorption-desorption characterization methods and theoretical calculation,and the photocatalytic performance of methyl orange was studied under visible light.According to various characterized results,the surface morphology of multistage orderly C/Nd2O3/TiO2 catalytic material is in alignment,internal is the cross linking pore structure,the size of the pore and the pore wall are smooth,compact and uniform.Macroporous structure shows the hexagonal structure to produce good openness,its crystal type is mainly anatase type.By changing surface morphology and doping modification,the absorption of light of multistage orderly C/Nd2O3/TiO2 is shifted to visible light,and the band width is also reduced.Through experimental and theoretical calculation analysis results show that the electro negativity of Nd is less than Ti atom,the electron cloud density of Ti atoms is increasing,making the binding energy of the Ti 2p orbit to move to low energy.The synergetic effect of non-metallic C and rare earth metal Nd form a new the impurity level in the top of valence band of TiO2 and the bottom of conduction band moves down,lead to the forbidden band width of C/Nd2O3/TiO2 catalytic materials narrower,this is consistent with the results of ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflection,compared with pure TiO2,the band gap of the multistage orderly C/Nd2O3/TiO2 was decreased by 0.55 eV.Thus,it is benefit to improve the photocatalytic activity of the multistage orderly C/Nd2O3/TiO2 catalytic material.
