Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are important precursors of ozone and secondary aerosols,and have a serious impact on human health.Industrial source is the mainly anthropogenic source of VOCs emissions.Therefore,it is essential to study the characteristics of VOCs emission in the region.This work collected data of VOCs activity level from 609 industrial enterprises in Qinhuangdao city.Then the study analyzed the characteristics of industrial VOCs emission,characteristics of typical industries and VOCs treatment facilities,accordingly putting forwards the most suitable VOCs treatment facilities for the typical industries.The VOCs emission inventory for Qinhuangdao city was established through direct measurement and emission factor method.The results showed that the annual total VOCs emission was 8420.07 t,of which 4120.51 t accounting for 48.9%of the total emission emitted from economic and technological development district as the major industrial source of VOCs.The oil processing,coking and nuclear fuel processing,chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing were found to be the important VOCs emitting industries,which shared about 30.35%and14.42%of total VOCs emission of industries in Qinhuangdao city.The solvent usage was the most important emission link,which accounted for 37%of total industrial VOCs emissions.The VOCs characteristics of typical industries were studied.The result indicated that the oil processing,coking and nuclear fuel processing,chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing had multiple emission links,obviously spatial distribution differences,various emission forms,complex VOCs components and large VOCs emission.The characteristics of chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry were medium and high concentration,high discharge flow.The machinery and equipment manufacturing industry emitted high concentration VOCs and the fluctuation range is wide,and had large relative gravity of particles in waste air.The VOCs discharged from glass manufacturing industry mostly came from unorganized emissions,the VOCs emission feature a low discharge flow and concentration,and usually intermittent emission.The VOCs concentration of plastic industry was low,and the flow was low.Benzene,lipids,alcohols and ketones were main components of VOCs.The emission mode was intermittent and organized emission.The concentration of printing and recording media reproduction industry was medium and high,the discharge flow was low.Benzene,esters,alcohols and ketones were main VOCs components.In the transportation equipment manufacturing industry,the VOCs emission concentration fluctuation range was larger,and the emission concentration and the particulate matter content were higher,showing intermittent emission characteristics.The components of VOCs were complex,mainly ketones,lipids and alkanes.The VOCs treatment facilities was studied,it showed that the industrial enterprises in Qinhuangdao city mostly used adsorption as VOCs treatment method,processing VOCs flow was 2000-50000 m~3/h.And the concentration was in the range of 100-1000 mg/m~3.The results indicated that the industries of oil processing,coking and nuclear fuel processing,chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing presented high VOCs reduction potentials in Qinhuangdao city.
