| Heat insulation ceramic fiber,a kind of new functional fiber,are widely used in thermal insulation material,have excellent heat insulation performance.Mainly includes the alumina fiber,zirconium oxide fibers and silicon carbide fiber and so on.In general,the fibers which fabricated by traditional method are mostly solid structure.The ceramic fiber with solid structure cause low porosity.Low porosity restricted the promotion of heat insulation performance with ceramic fibers.Billions of years,with the continuous evolution of organisms,there is a lot of organism with subtle and great microstructure in the nature.The sentence of "the silt but not imbrued" is derived from micro-nano structures with low surface energy of lotus leaf.And with the development of material characterization techniques,the researchers found that there are a series of natural fibers with special structure,such as Ceiba,Akund,Platanus fibers,Cogon fibers,Catkin and Reed fibers etc.They all have hollow tubular structure,with excellent heat insulation performance.In this study,natural fiber is used as a template to fabricate hollow ceramic fibers with excellent heat-insulating properties.The microstructure,phase composition,pore size distribution,and thermal conductivity of the hollow ceramic fibers are analyzed using infrared spectroscopy,thermogravimetric analysis,and differential scanning calorimetry.According to the results,the synthesized biomorphic ceramic fibers inherit the hollow structure of ceiba.The heat-insulation properties of these biomorphic ceramic fibers are much better than those of traditional ceramic solid fibers.Preparation of zirconia fiber at 500℃ the minimum thermal conductivity is 0.048 W/(m,K),at1000 ℃ for0.1 W/(mK). |
