Research On The Application Of Surrealism Art Features In Clothing Design

with the development of society and technology,people’s ideology and culture has become increasingly open,surrealism clothing,to a certain extent,is good to meet the consumer’s choices.At the same time,the clothing with surrealist artistic characteristics also,to some extent,expands creators’ design thinking and solves the problems that for designers,the lack of inspiration for fashion design and artistic creation techniques.With sorting out and analyzing the historical literature of surrealist art and the application of surrealism in various fields,we find four features of surrealism that contains illogicality,untruthfulness,absurd humor and metaphor.This paper summarized the surrealist art features in contemporary fashion design by three elements of clothing system which includes modeling,fabric,color or accessories and other detailed discussion.At the same time,it also demonstrates the symbolic meaning and value of surrealism clothing in modern fashion design.As a surrealist clothing,most of them only exist in show or art exhibition.But the author believes that surrealist art features are also applicable to the design of mass clothing.Its unique design thinking and innovative means are good for the customer-oriented consumer market,which brings a new look for our society.Surrealist clothing seems to be chaotic and unreal,but in essence,it is closely related to social and cultural orientation,the application of science and technology,ecological interpretation and social expression.
