Along with the rapid development of the manufacturing industry and the continuous improvement of the market requirements on the performance of the casting,the problem that the traditional casting process cannot meet the development needs of the modern manufacturing industry has gradually emerged.Due to the limitation of the processing method,it is not only time-consuming and costly to produce a mold with complicated structure,but also the accuracy is difficult to meet the requirements;When casting complex parts,the preparation process of the mold is complicated and time consuming.If the size and structure of the parts change during the development of new products,the design,manufacture and assembly of the molds need to be adjusted,not adapting to customer demand for agile manufacturing;The traditional investment casting technology,due to the length of the process,considering the cost factor,is mainly applied to the mass production of complex precision castings,and is not suitable for the production of single-piece and small-volume castings,which limits the application range of the technology.In this context,many scholars based on the technical characteristics of 3D printing,carried out its application research in the field of casting,and achieved fruitful research results,which injected new vitality into the development of the foundry industry and brought revolutionary change.For example,the use of photo-curing resin molding,selective laser sintering of polymer material molding,starch-based 3D printing molding technology,etc.,instead of the traditional investment in the production of wax molds,can achieve complex molds quickly Preparation,effectively improve the production efficiency of complex precision castings.This project combines FDM 3D printing technology with traditional casting technology,directly prints the casting shell with engineering plastics,and then uses the physical properties of the low melting alloy to heat and melt the alloy and then pour it into the shell.Compared with the traditional sand mold casting method,the molding process of alloy castings proposed in this project is replaced by one process of 3D printing casting shell,which shortens the production flow of alloy castings remarkably.It can effectively improve the production efficiency and molding quality of alloy castings and reduce the production cost.It is a beneficial exploration for the application of FDM 3D printing technology in precision casting industry.
