Abstract/Summary:
Aluminum borate whiskers have low production costs,simple production processes and excellent performance,and have great market application prospects.In this paper,aluminum borate whiskers were prepared by flux method and sol-gel method,respectively.The structure and morphology of the synthesized products were characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and TG-DSC.Aluminum borate whiskers were synthesized by the flux method using aluminum potassium sulfate,aluminum ammonium sulfate and aluminum sulfate as the aluminum sources,boric acid as the boron source,and flux as the potassium sulfate.The effects of aluminum source,reaction temperature and reactant ratio on the structure and morphology of the synthesized product were systematically investigated.The structure and morphology of the product were characterized by X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscope,and the thermos gravimetric analyzer was used.The reaction precursor was subjected to thermos gravimetric analysis and its reaction mechanism was explored.Studies have shown that the best reactants are potassium aluminum sulfate and boric acid.The optimum conditions are:n(Al):n(B)=4:1,n(Al+B):n(K2SO4)= 1:0.5 Calcination temperature 1200℃,holding time 2h.Under this condition,aluminum borate whiskers with uniform morphology and length-to-diameter ratio of 6-10 were prepared.Taking nitrate aluminum nitrate as aluminum source,boric acid as boron source and citric acid as surfactant,aluminum borate whiskers were synthesized by sol-gel method and high-temperature calcination.The effects of reaction temperature and reactant ratio on the structure and morphology of the synthesized product were investigated.The structure and morphology of the product were characterized by X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscopy,and the dry gel was analyzed using a thermos gravimetric analyzer.A thermos gravimetric analysis was performed and the reaction mechanism was explored.Studies have shown that the optimal ratio of reactants is:n(Al):n(B)=1:4,n(Al+B):n(citric acid)=1:2,calcination temperature 1300℃,holding time 2h.Under this condition,aluminum borate whiskers with uniform morphology and length-to-diameter ratio of 5-10 were obtained.
