4,10-Dinitro-2,6,8,12-tetraoxa-4,10-diazatetracyclo-[5.5.0.05.9.03.11]dodecane(TEX)is a typical cage type of energetic materials which has excellent comprehensive performance.However,the research of TEX mainly focuses on synthesis method,there are few studies on the particle size,crystallization and the mixed explosives of TEX.The crystal morphology of TEX is studied in this paper,and the intact structure,uniform particle size distribution,better thermal stability and greater mechanical properties of TEX was prepared via recrystallization method.Then using the refined TEX to coat on the surface of raw HMX,and the TEX/HMX composites with low sensitivity and excellent performance was prepared.Superfine spherical TEX was prepared by solvent non-solvent recrystallization method,and the optimum refining process conditions are obtained:DMSO and water are solvent and non-solvent,respectively.volume ratio between DMSO and water is 1:20,stirring rate is 400 r·min-1,and tetrabutyl ammonium bromide as the crystalline modifier.Results show that the median particle size of ultrafine TEX decreased from 102.23 ?m to 4.53 ?m,the particle size distribution was uniform and most of them were micro spherical.In comparison with the raw TEX and its Plastic Bonded Explosives(PBX),the DTG peak temperature of ultrafine TEX and its PBX increased 6.93 ? and 8.36 ?,respectively;In comparison with the raw TEX,the ultrafined TEX's apparent activation energy and critical temperature of thermal explosion increased by 22%and 4.96 ?.and their mechanical sensitivity decreased by 24%and 4%,respectively.The thermal stability of the ultrafine TEX and its PBX have better stability.The superfine TEX and F2603 were used to coat HMX via solvent-aqueous suspension coating method.The formulation design and preparation process of TEX/HMX composites were studied.The particle gradation between superfine TEX(D50=4.532 ?m)and HMX(D50=10.234 ?m)have excellent effect on the sensitivity,and 3 wt%binder of F2603 is the optimum volume.The optimum process condition is:mass ratio of solid-liquid is 1:3,stirring velocity is 350 r·min-1,feeding rate is 7 mL·min-1,and reaction temperature is 70 ?.Results of SEM images show that TEX can be coated on the surface of HMX with amount of 3 wt%F2603,the crystal form of HMX keep constant after being coated,compared to raw HMX,the impact sensitivity of TEX/HMX composites(TEX:30 wt%)decreased from 100%to 52%,the friction sensitivity reduced from 100%to 32%,in addition,the velocity of detonation reached to 7932 m·s-1,1.716 g·cm-3 of loading density.
