Centerless bar peeling machine is an indispensable metal bar surface treatment equipment.The domestic mainly relies on the import the centerless bar peeling machine,the processing range larger than 200 mm,to satisfy the production demand at present.In this paper,the spindle drive system and cutterhead system were designed with the large diameter centerless bar peeling machine as the research object.The aim was to design a spindle system with high power transmission and the cutterhead system with the strength to meet the working requirements and achieve accurate automatic tool adjustment.The part model and virtual assembly model of the spindle drive system and the cutterhead system of the large diameter centerless bar peeling machine were established by the software Solidworks.The free mode of the cutterhead structure was analyzed through ANSYS Workbench,a finite element analysis software,and two optimization schemes were proposed for the cutterhead structure.The modal calculation results of the cutterhead with longitudinal stiffeners and transverse stiffeners and the original cutterhead were compared.The results show that the natural frequencies of the seventh to tenth order of the cutterhead with longitudinal stiffeners and transverse stiffeners was increased by 18%,8%,23% and 14%,respectively.The structure of the original cutterhead was optimized and the stiffness of the cutterhead was increased,and the natural frequency of the cutterhead was far away from the fundamental frequency of the peeling machine.Base on software DEFORM-3D,cutting force was simulated during the cutting process of a large diameter bar peeling machine and the maximum cutting force during the cutting process was calculated.The statics analysis of the cutterhead system with longitudinal stiffeners and transverse stiffeners was carried out by the finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench.The maximum equivalent stress of the cutterhead system was 16.3MPa and the maximum equivalent strain was 0.0001 during the process of cutting the ?320 mm stainless steel bar of the peeling machine.The maximum equivalent stress of the cutterhead system was 80.68 MPa and the maximum equivalent strain was 0.0004 during the process of cutting the ?50 mm stainless steel bar of the peeling machine.The rigid-flexible coupling dynamic model of the spindle drive system and the kinematic model of the cutterhead system were established by the dynamic analysis software ADAMS.The simulation rotational speed values of active gear,transmission gear and spindle gear were agreement with the theoretical values.The simulation values of the tangential and radial forces of the active gear-transmission gear pair and the transmission gear-spindle gear pair were 3649.21 N,1580.15 N and 3598.64 N,1415.13 N,respectively.The first meshing frequency of the spindle drive system was 416.798 HZ.During the process of gear meshing,the maximum equivalent stress of the active gear,the transmission gear and the spindle gear were 155.79 MPa,108.79 MPa and 41.89 MPa,respectively,which were lower than the allowable stress of the gear material and satisfied the working requirements of the peeling machine.The transmission accuracy of the tool adjustment system was 0.00108mm/degree,and the four movable tool holder movement with a altitudinal synchronization.The analysis of the virtual prototype model of the centerless bar peeling machine could improve the efficiency of product development,which has important theoretical significance and practical engineering application value.
