| With the improvement of people’s economic level and the change of parental concept,the penetration rate of diapers on the market is gradually increasing.Although the advent of diapers bring a great convenience to people’s lives,there are some problems on the current market,such as a low absorption rate,a big amount of wetback.Considering diapers are intimate contact with the baby’s skin,these problems can cause wet environment between skin and diaper which will induce some skin problems.Therefore,it is an urgent need to be able to produce diapers that can quickly absorb liquids and reduce the amount of wetback.In this study,a three-layer composite absorption distribution layer(ADL)was designed.The upper and bottom layers of the ADL were conventional planar fiber webs.The middle layer was a nonwoven material with wavy structure at the transverse section.The method and device for making a wavy fiber web were also introduced.Ten kinds of ADL were made and numbered M-1,M-2,M-3,M-4,M-5,M-6,W-7,W-8,W-9,W-10,and from M-1 to M-6 were three-layer ADLs,whose area density were 30g/m~2,and from W-7 to W-10 were two-layer ADLs of conventional planar structure,whose area density were 20g/m~2.The liquid strike-through time,liquid absorption rate,liquid holding rate and liquid longitudinal diffusion length of the ADL has been discussed.On this basis,two kinds of diapers with good performance on the market were selected as basic diapers.To obtain new diapers,the ADL in the two kinds of basic diapers were replaced by several three-layer ADLs.the new diapers were marked as A1,A2,A3,B1,B2,B3,besides,A4and B4 were basic diapers,the liquid strike-through time,liquid longitudinal diffusion length and wetback of these 8 diapers were tested.Through a large number of experiments and analysis,the subject drawed the following conclusions:(1)When the ADL material began to absorb the liquids,at first,the material was wetted by the liquids,and then the liquids were distributed by wicking of the capillary formed between the fibers,after liquids entered the material,the liquids were diffused into the fabric under the pulling force of the capillary force.The role of the ADL in the diaper is to quickly transmit the top layer liquids,to longitudinally disperse the liquids,to deliver the liquid to the absorption core layer,and to temporarily store the liquids.(2)Each layer of the ADL consist of different specification fiber,and different fiber combinations of different layers will affect the liquid strike-through time,liquid absorption rate,liquid holding rate and liquid longitudinal diffusion length.After comprehensive analysis and judgment,this study found the performances of the 3-layer ADL was better than that of the 2-layer ADL.Besides,the performances were better when the fiber linear densities of three-layer ADL from the top,middle and bottom layers were 6,1.5 and 3D,3,6 and 1.5D,6,3 and 1.5D,respectively,These three sets of ADL material can be used to assemble diapers.(3)In this study,two kinds of diapers were selected from the market.Compared with the market’s diapers,the liquid strike-through time,liquid longitudinal diffusion length and wetback of assembled diapers were better,and the assembled diapers have a minimum liquid penetration time which was 9.08s;the maximum liquid longitudinal diffusion length of the assembled diaper can reach 17.5cm;the assembled diaper have minimum wetbacks,which was only 0.39g.On the basis of the experiments and analyses,we can come to the conclusion that,ADL materials are both good at longitudinal diffusion and the vertical permeability,when the ADL is applied to the diaper,diaper also enable to quickly absorb the liquids,quickly distribute the liquids and effectively prevent the liquid wetback. |
