In the process of culture, the costumes' exhibition in museum plays an important role.In all countries,it carries traditional culture and the value of it should not be underestimated in the development of national costumes' culture.Recently, with the wide application of Virtual Reality technology, some achievements have been achieved in dress display. The research of Museum clothing display with virtual reality technology has become a hot topic at present. Therefore, the application of virtual reality technology has profound significance to the exploration of Museum Costume Display. At present, the clothing exhibits in the museum are mainly based on the traditional display: the plane paving, the support support and the human model display. The traditional way to display the subjective and objective factors more, such as the venue and time, clothing exhibits protection restrictions, compared with the clothing virtual display appears to be somewhat limited, while the virtual display has its authenticity, immersion, imagination and other features,in the sensory, emotional and cognitive interaction, the maximum for the audience to bring a new experience.By reviewing the data investigation, classification and comparative research, empirical research, interdisciplinary research and data analysis methods such as the development of virtual reality, the performance method of costume virtual display, elements and design principles of virtual museum costume show, the audience point of comparison with the traditional clothing virtual display display in the senses, interaction and emotional and cognitive experience differences, and through empirical research to the application system design.Through the study of virtual dress display, the main results and conclusions are obtained:(1)The first part combed the development history of virtual reality.Taking the twenty-first Century(The second golden era in virtual reality)as the time axis,we studied the museum exhibition containing educational functions in various industries, and summarized the three characteristics and four applications of virtual reality.(2)The second part expounds the four characteristics of the virtual display of the museum clothing, compares the performance characteristics of the costume virtual display, and determines the production process of the system.(3)The third part lists the three elements of the clothing virtual exhibition system, the main body, the object and the media. It also sets up the design principles of the clothing virtual exhibition from the three aspects of audience, cheongsam and scene, and VR system, and induces and compares the presentation way of the virtual reality system.(4)The fourth part sets up a cheongsam virtual exhibition system based on design principles. It introduces in detail the 3D modeling of characters, cheongsam and scenes, the interaction of Unity3 D,and the design and application process of virtual exhibition system.(5)The fifth part, based on the virtual display system of cheongsam, compares the differences between the traditional display and the virtual display in the audience's senses, interaction, emotion and cognitive experience.Through the questionnaire survey, and confirmatory factor analysis, construct the structural equation model of audience experience, virtual display of cheongsam and traditional show to do a detailed analysis on the experience of difference experiments show that compared with the traditional display, virtual display more by non professional audiences of all ages, and can improve the audience on the exhibits awareness and favorability.(6)The sixth part summarizes the research of Museum costume virtual exhibition design, and the lack of technology in virtual display due to simulation and tactility, can not meet the needs of the majority of the audience's authenticity, and put forward feasible suggestions for further research.
